Ubuntu 6.06: openoffice not recognizing misspelled words. Usually, openoffice underlines misspelled words. In my openoffice 2.02 that came with Ubuntu 6.06, openoffice wordprocessor is not recognizing misspelled words and the spellcheck is not detecting any misspelled words, even though I purposely put some misspelled words in.

Any idea why?

Any idea how I can fix it?

Do you have ispell or myspell packages installed along with the packages specific to your language?

(And shouldn't this be in the Computers / Software forum?)

Yes, definately make sure the spelchecking libraries are installed for your language, and also check the settings of the spellchecker it can be made to ignore certain words, and if I'm not mistaken, you can also set it to only check your selection. Try selecting the misspelled text, then running a splellcheck.
