Caligari Truespace - 2D to 3D

Does anyone know how to convert a transparent 2D image in a 3D object?
I looked for in a lot of sites without answer. I just want to convert a 2D logo in a 3D logo to create an animation, but I don't want to build it again. I didn't find any option inside the program or a script. Truespace perform that task for text, you can enter a 2D text and apply a 3D transformation. I suspect it's not difficult, but I'm a beginner in 3D animation yet.

as far as i know, there isn't a program that "just does it" for you.
whatever you use, you must create a profile (outline of logo) and extrude (give it a 3d depth)

this is possible in just about any cad system or 3d software.

lots of open source/freeware availiable
