Help with Layout

Hey guys, my site is in the works to being complete. The only problem right now before i continue is the layout of my sport pages. Right now, I just have a list of sites and brief description next to each one. Let me know ways to better organize them or make them look better.

I would like to say something very truthfully

That banner on top really looks awful and spoils the look of the site, please do get a professional banner done which looks sleeker and better than that

and also about the google ad on the left, ensure that the background is same as your sites background, it stands out a bit too much now

And on the left bottom, you have the thing called navigation dropdown box
if possible remove the -navigation- hyphens next to each item

are you using css standards? if so you should have it on your site. if not----GET using them!!!!!!!
