Nepalese people have decided to declare Nepal as a secular country. What's your view in this... Secularity is the need of today I think when so many people around the world are fighting in the name of religion. Religion is nothing to fight for, its just their belief and every body is free to follows the beliefs they suppose that is best for them without harming other people's right.

But anyway, the fact is that all religions must be allowed to exist in peace and harmony with each other.
That is my wish too
But I dont see anything is wrong with a country being Hindu and still letting people co-exist in harmony
Being Hindu is a tradition dating back to many centuries, why not let it lie?
Just because the country is hindu does not mean it wont tolerate other religions.
Secularism must arise from the heart and not from a bloody ordinance or act to that effect
I say that, nepal can very well remain a hindu country and still be secular if its people want to

If people want to be truly secular then they should just be so, instead of waiting for the law to approve it/
there is no need for a nation to blare into loudspeakers that they are secular.
Other people will understand this just by looking at the people from that nation

God supercedes the "need for secularity." You'd be surprised that most conflicts appearing to be from religion are really just from greed (if you break it down far enough).
The issue is, why put that label on yourself? Why not just allow everyone to exist as they are. As you label yourselves secular, you'll have the religious people mad. If you label yourself Islam, or Hindu, or whatever you wish, then you have made everyone else mad.

If you label yourself as non-secular, you're basically telling the people of your country that they have to all necessary label themselves as belonging to that particular religion, whether they like it or not.
Secularity is to let people label themselves as they want. Being forced to do something is not better than doing it by choice, is it?
