Does anyone here listen to Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros? I think they're actually pretty good, and the stuff Strummer wrote just before he died (eg. Coma Girl) could be compared to some of the Clash's best work...

Yeah, I do. I think they were pretty good and, like you say, worthy successors to The Clash. Strummer's one of my heroes, he always stuck to his guns (of Brixton). A whole lot better than B.A.D. 
Did you know that 'the Mescaleros' is a reference to the illegal drug 'mescaline'? (I thought it was kind of cool.)

strummer was a true genius........it was great to see strummer and jones finally reunited at the acton benefit gig...bit of fate or what.
the clash live were truly great.
