I have a site running on Frihost. But because of a spelling problem
of the site's name I had to take a similar domain-name too.
Now I want both names once typed linked to my site!
How do I do this? And how do I transfer the second domain-name
to frihost? Maybe as a sub-domain? I don't have a clue. Plz help.
Thanks in advance
Thx for answering.
I already acquired both domain names.
Only I don't know how to transfer the second one to my
frihost account in a way, that if people type either
this or that name, the same site will be opened.
I have heard, that I might have to put the second domain name
in the first line of the html text of the original site to be
But I'm not sure.
Do you want the new domain to show the same thing as your current site? Or do you want it to redirect to your current site? In both cases you should use the domain pointers feature of DirectAdmin, with or without redirecting.
I want it to be redirected to the site.
How do I use the domain pointers feature, please?
And can I transfer the domain to the same host address,
like the first one?
Hmm. Go to DirectAdmin and log-in. Then go to DNS Management and fill in all the info and the domain that's registered at another place can be pointed to your site or can be used as a redirection. Depending on your choice.
Hi there, I think it would be fine to redirect your domains to the site you want to point too.
and depending where you aquired the domain names you need not even wory about the bad spelling.
Here is what you could do.
login on to the control panel from the provider you aquired your new domain.
set up a redirect in the redirect option they provide
if you want to hide the incorrect spelling of your subdomain
then be sure to try and set up a masked redirect in this why your domain pointed to will not be shown in the browser only your pointing domain (i.e. the new one you have aquired).
Note: if you configure your domain pointer to be masked then test your site fully as masking the domain could result in some information from HTTP headrs to be maksed too and depending on the complexity of your site you could loose functionaly as the masking will suppress some information.
safest Redirect is the simple one without masking the even on search engines content of your site could be used as search criteria, with masking even this will be lost.
Got to you domain provider control centre and do a unmasked redirect to your index file
perhaps uni.cc would be an option
or perhaps .co.nr and stuff like that
he did not mention a TLD there
