Inserting html into a website? You need to create your website first on your computer, then you upload with ftp. You need to download an ftp program such as filezilla, google it.

Ok, let's start from the beginning Smile

First of all, you'll need to create your website. Some other hosting companies such as Geocities allow you to use an online website creation tool - Frihost does not offer this (but believe me, Frihost is much better than Geocities Wink ). You will need to use a program to build your website on your computer. There are several free versions available - you should look into NVU or Serif Web Plus 6 - these are good enough for a complete beginner, and they're free.

Once you've created your site in html, you'll need to upload it to the Frihost server - the easiest way to do this is using FTP - don't try to do this through Direct Admin. Firstly, as Hobbit says, you will need an FTP client like Filezilla.

Once you install Filezilla, tell it to connect to ftp://ftp.yoursite.frih.net and log in using your Direct Admin password. You will then be given a list of folders on the Frihost server - one of which is Public_html (if you can't see this, open DOMAINS > YOURDOMAIN.FRIH.NET > PUBLIC_HTML). Open this folder, then put all the html files and images you created into it. Remember that your homepage will need to be called "index.html" - is is important that you delete the existing index page from the Frihost server, and make sure you use all lowercase letters for the file names.

Once you have done that, you can log out of the FTP server, then go to http://www.yoursite.frih.net and you will be able to see the website you've created. Any time you make changes to the site, you can re-upload them using FTP.

Direct Admin is an advanced settings page, and unless you need to create email addresses or php databases, you will probably not need to use it. Please feel free to let me know if you need any more help.

I hope this is useful - and don't worry! We all have to start somewhere Very Happy
