6-Year-Old Minn. Boy Brings Pot to School

ST. PAUL, Minn. - When a teacher asked a 6-year-old boy to pull a folder out of his Scooby-Doo backpack, a bag filled with 25 smaller bags of marijuana fell out instead, a court document said.

The teacher gave the drugs to a school administrator, who called police. Before officers arrived at HOPE Community Academy, the boy's father showed up. He took the backpack from his son and quickly walked away, according to a criminal complaint.

The father was later arrested and told investigators he hid the marijuana in the backpack, and left it in a bedroom closet. When he discovered the backpack was missing, he ran to his son's nearby school.

Corey Randle, 29, was charged Thursday with a fifth-degree drug-sale charge.

First of all you have got to be totaly stupid if you are stashing it in your 6 year olds school bag. Not only do kids like to share what is in their back pack, but they also have assignments that teachers will ask for. And of course the backpack would be missing, the son had to take it to school with him. I mean that is totaly pathetic.

I never kenw there was such thing as a fifth degree crime, I guess you learn new things everyday. And yes the guy was stupid for leaving $125.00 worth of weed in his own sons bag. I'd stash it in a drawer or someplace like that. He must have been high when he left the weed in his sons bag unless he goes around town selling his weed with a scooby doo back pack.

the guy was probably totally wasted/high when this happened haha, so it's sorta understandable that he does somethin this frickin retarded.

Gotta give credit to the kid for being able to find his school bag hidden in his dad's closet tho:P

At least the kid didn't get in trouble. Like those elementary school kids who get expelled for taking a nail clippers to shool that fell in their bookbag accidently. I would post a link for an article on that, but I only remember hearning, not reading about it.

How did the kid not notice? Rolling Eyes

You'd think that when he organised his books and put his lunch in or something he would have noticed.

... and wouldn't his bag feel a lot different? Wink

It'a a six year old.
A: They're MEANT to be disorganised. It's nature.
B: They probably don't want to know what is in their bag! (Six year olds... *sigh*)
C: Who actually puts stuff like that in a six year olds bag? I mean, heck! As I just said... Does the father know what has been/is in there?
Leetch
Hahaha thats a great story.

A: Even so, you'd think he would notice something! Laughing
B: Even a six year old would think its weird to have a couple of bags of what appears to be grass in their bag!!! Wink and if he saw and didn't know what it was (unlikely) you'd think he'd tell somebody!!! Rolling Eyes Grass in your bag?
Leetch
Whats to say he didn't notice it ?
HoboPelican
Where you guys never 6? The kid probably never even looked in the bag until the teacher asked for the folder. At that age there could have been sleeping cat in the bag and he wouldn't notice it.

And you're right, Cfackler, I'm glad they didn't punish the kid. Schools are totally out of control with this zero-tolerance bulls**t.
Leetch
But still he would've noticed it ?

I don't think so! Even six year old knows when their bag weighs and feels way different Wink

I meant that I agree with you, I also think that schools are out of control and I also think (that)

Some US schools and youth out of control and I don't think anyone is really dealing with it (at least in a good way)! Rolling Eyes

zero-tolerance=adverse effect

Yeh, i didn't write that ^^ though

That would be me Smile

I keep seeing s**t about this or that student getting expelled for having aspirin or their asthma inhaler in class. I mean, what is the freakin' point? This is one instance where Philosopher Princess' diatribes about bad uses of power would be apt.

On topic - And I may have been slightly exagerating a bit about the cat, but not by much Wink

Lol, my bad! Embarassed ^^^

I reckon that schools need clearer guild-lines and rules so that kids arn't expelled from dumb stuff (like aspirin Twisted Evil ). It's stupid you can get away with much more at a normal job. Rolling Eyes
