I don't mind but may be they will quailfy at least semi final...Australia is a good country but just developing in football.And the players can't play good matches in Australian leauges...As i said before Brazil wiil win...

I think Brazil is going to win. But I hope England can get the cup this time though because they have the finest players this time. I mean Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Owen, Beckam, Joe Cole, etc. They have star players in all positions except for the GK ( that can be fatal). Even the forwards might not be able to score (Rooney is now injuried and Owen just recovered), they still have Lampard (top scorer of Chelsea) and Gerrard (Legend of Liverpool) to produce goals. Still, England always disappoints its fans in the World Cup....
There is alot of countries which could make the semi-finals.

That was in the World Cup final when France were the best team in the world and had far and away the best squad. Even now they have a great squad. I don't personally think Australia have even a remote chance of winning the competition. For me the semis will likely include Germany vs. Italy and England vs. Brazil. I've made a little summary of what i think might happen at the world cup below:

Maybe Australia will get to the second round but if they do i think they will lose to Italy or the Czech Republic. Australia's squad is weak compared with the bigger footballing nations.

Yea, but in last match against Iran they save draw 2:2 in last minute penalty. Week performance of Croatia Team. Great result for Croatia (maybe real) would be second stage of competition. After that, any higher place would be a miracle.
Australia is totaly outsider, but just for remember, Croatia was outsider in France 1998!!! This is the best in World Cup, any team have chance!!! Remember Senegal or Turkey at Japan/Korea 2002?

That match was full of surprises. And I probably agree with Pele's judgement that Brazil will win. England will hav an excellent chance of that too.
As for Australia, given their performance against the dutch, I think they do have the potential to make it in the second round, provided that the players don't tire out and the luck goes their way. Plus, Guus Hiddink is an excellent coach whose coached teams that were in the semis in the last two world cups.
I think that is how far they can go.

.i see too much emphasis on australia.. i disagree. i don't believe either that brazil will win, the fauvorite never wins.. germany has a great chance being hosts... but argentina can always win. i won't underestimate neither the strength of the czechs and dutchs....
I'll start with Italy even if its guaranteed most of the time they will be kicked out even if they go on a winning streak, But I'll also root for Brazil, They seemed worthy in 2002.
Just 2 days now until it kicks off, I really can't wait! Italy's last two friendlies haven't gone too well with draws against switzerland and the ukraine, also Nesta and Zambrotta could miss the opening game against Ghana which worries me a bit. What about Michael Ballack! If he isn't 100% fit it could prove a disaster for Germany.

Good to see some people are still wise. France is ging to win, and that's obvious. Franck Ribery is the Man, with a capital m. He is the new Zidane, a leader in his time. With him on our team, we are assured to win. Fabien Barthez is also back after his suspension, and WOW he's ready to rock. As to joshdifabio's prediction, I highly doubt Italy would beat France. The Del Piero phenomena is over, Italy is without a chance; it's over. Better support a more healthy and fit team like France.

The Brazil game was actually not so interesting. Either they poker or they really have to wake up.

I'm also betting on Brazil. I like their philosophy. They really look like they love playing and have fun doing so.

Well..after first round of first round i'm not so sure Brazil is gonna win this cup. I think Italy and Germany will make it to the final.
Second round games shows that every team can beat every favorit, so I think this championship would be most unlikely ever...

I think Argentina has a great chance. They will win their group then head onto the second round and probably play mexico with no struggle. Their third round will be a real test when they face a tougher team than they have seen so far. Crespo and Saviola seem to be working fairly well to carry their team and i believe they will surprise a lot of countries.

I would love to see my to favorite teams brazil and england lock up in the finals! Sadly it seem shighly improbable with the only possibility being a semi-final clash..

If Argentina get past germany today no doubt they will take the cup. Another intresting game to watch this weekend will be the brazil - french game. france seems to be getting better as the tournament goes along but if they have to face england then its over for them. my guess for the final game would be argentina vs england 2-1.

It looks like Germany and France are reaching the final game. I saw yesterdays's match between Brazil and France, it was great. France played very well!
