I usually got with www.glxhost.com I think they're the best.
I've got experience with 1&1 and they're pretty good. They're probably not the cheapest for .com domains, but if you give them your credit card number, you'll get a free .info domain for the first year.

the problem with 1&1 is that their service is limited to USA, Canada and (if I recall correctly) UK. If you live in any other country - you can't be their client.
I've registered my domains with godaddy (http://godaddy.com), which was pretty cheap ($1.99 after purchasing an e-mail hosting account). Their service seems to be pretty good too.

I use namecheap personally, I like it's "whois protection". And since bondings uses it, if there is any problem with namecheap, at least I know I'm not the only one affected and we can help each other by warning each other about the registrar.

I know where to get the cheapest .com, .net etc domains. Go to http://www.globat.com/products/domainonly.htm. You can buy domains for only $1.95. Very cheap! But it is only for the first year and then when you want to renew it, it costs $8.95 after the first year. Before this was the cheapest place to buy domains because it was only $1.95 for every year. Now it is not really cheap anymore.
I use hosting dude www.hostingdude.com so far has been good
I am using domaincentral.com.au to register my domain name and perform web/email forwarding. It is pretty cheap - I think $24.95/yr and so far it has been pretty good!
