I agree that is OpenOffice is the best choice, because we can convert the document instanly to pdf format.

Open office is good but the output pdf quality i found is not very good when used on RH9 (may bcoz of different fonts I mean non-truetype fonts).
Anywayz on windows pdf995 should be a better choice.

I’m using a free PDF generator program called "Primo PDF".

You can download it from: http://www.primopdf.com/
It’s very fast, gives you several printing options:

- Screen
- Print
- E-book
- Prepress

And you can choose your security settings, such as:

- Allow printing
- Allow the copy of texts and graphics
- Allow comments
- Allow text editing and adding or removing pages

You may print word documents, internet pages, pictures, and other items.

I never had a problem with this program, and it has been extremely usefully.

Cutepdf if another good pdf software that installs as a printer.
So any Windows app that you print from can become a pdf file.

I use OpenOffice, and use it to create PDF. I prefer this to using one program to type in something in doc format, and then using a converter seperatly to convert to pdf. Openoffice creates pdf files of greater size, but otherwise I think it is ok

About PDF995, I suppose nobody here has read my review on it?

the pdf995 software is a scam, the part of it that actually writes the pdf file is open source (it is called GhostScript) and the print driver is just a modified version of RedMon, which sends the PostScript to GhostScript and converts it into a PDF file. People DONT pay 9.95 for PDF995 as the software used in it is OPEN SOURCE

You might say that's a bit childish, but that was 2 years ago Razz

Anyway...

That actually looks quite nice... I might try that the next time I need a PDF converter...

PDFCreator is also a good pdf creating software. It is located at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

Just use OpenOffice.org, no extra software needed!
