Doctor HTML - analyse your page

Doctor HTML (click "single page")

This is a very useful tool, for any webdesigner. Not only will it help you find problems in your code and places where the code could be better, it also analyses your page and reports the exact size of all the files. RECOMENDED!

Luke

Instead of buying this program, why don't you use the free W3C validator ?

http://validator.w3.org/

It is much better, and easy. Just enter the URL of your page into the form, click on the Check button and the Validator automatically checks the page and points out the potential problem areas for your website.

DRHTML is free...

It also does a ton of cool stuff which the w3c validator doesnt...

I quite like the w3c thing aswel though...

Really ? I would be interested in knowing what you consider as cool stuff that the W3C validator doesn't do. And anyway I couldn't find a link to download even a crippled version of DrHTML, so I'm not sure how can you claim DrHTML is free. All I see on this page is a link to order the software :

Press "Single Page" - thats the analyser.

Cool stuff: Spelling, font-support, total document + image size, doesnt get confused by javascript (w3c validator does sometimes if you document.write or innerHTML your content) + VERY EASY TO USE - it summarises whats "wrong" on your page and prioritizes the most important issues for you

Don't mean to interupt you guys, Very Happy but i liked http://validator.w3.org/ the most, like said by Modak, it lets you paste the html code into a form.
So you don't need to upload the page first, but anyway i used them both and liked them equaly for uploaded pages.

I found also another one that allows you to put your code into a form.

I could do but i wont - i know the results already - w3c wins because its the only one ppl know Rolling Eyes

Also, i believe that doing polls generates loads of pointless spam posts like

some random n00b who doesnt know how to post wrote:

I voted #something# because its the best LOL ROFL STFU LOL

Which isnt exactly what anybody wants... Very Happy

I've checked it and... hmm i don't know - w3c is better ...

This "doctor" does same thing as w3c except Spelling thing whitch is bull**it ... when i have page in Polish lang every world is an error for this program Razz

w3c have CSS validator whitch is important - html is now just divs'n'text Razz

Next thing - when i use w3c I'm sure that validator is 100% compatible with new specification because they write new spec Razz

Nex thing - this Dr HTML doesn't see error whit Flash file (script whitch is putting it) and that;s wrong:
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/flashsatay/

Verdict: I'll stay whit w3c - this Dr isn't bad but .. w3c better - simple, fast, everyone knows it (when You can put XHTML vaild , CSS vaild buttons on Your site You may be proud Razz )

I was just joking a bit about that poll, Wink Very Happy like i said w3c was my fav to.

B4r4t you're right about the CSS validator, i didn't notice that myself, untill now, lets just say it's a decent alternative for when w3c would be offline... whenever that would be.
