Okay, I've got a problem. My grandma's email program (Outlook Express) keeps reseting the pop3 server setting. When I originally set up the computer for her I put in the correct setting, everything worked fine. Then next time she tried getting her emails, it wouldn't recieve. The pop3 server had somehow been reset to 127.0.0.1. I again put in the correct setting for her. Later, it was back to 127.0.0.1 again. It happens everytime she starts Outlook to get her email. Does anyone know why it might be doing this?
pop3 email settings - reset themselves
Follow the link below. It has at least two suggestions. One is specific to McAfee SpamKiller. The other sets the pop server value to the IP address of the pop server and then changes back to the pop server name.

Do you have something like SquirrelMail or anything along them lines installed ? This may cause interferences with other mail software. Also, don't know whether you know, probably do, but 127.0.0.1 is equivalent to http://localhost so if a server is installed theres a more of a high chance. However, I don't think this is like due to the fact that its your grandmums PC
Thanks for the responses guys. It is probably being caused by SpamKiller, which she has installed on her computer. I'll see what I can do, now that I know what the problem is. Thanks again.
