I am currently looking for a graphic converter that can convert files of gif format into jpg type. I had looked into the net for a long time, but can't find a decent one. Can anyone recommend me one?(best if it is free ;p)

A quick Google search for "free gif to jpg converter" was all that was needed.

MS Paint will do the job, but you might also like to take a look at GIMPshop.
GIMPshop is essentially GIMP (the free Gnu Image Manipulation Program) with a front-end to look like Photoshop. It's excellent - give it a try!

Try PixResizer, you can convert/resize single or multiple images with it.

Of course, in menu save as -> jpeg/gif (what U need)
Mspaint converts images with high level of compression, so i can`t say that it is good tool... Irfan View should be ok for U.

Irfan view. It is the ultimate software for viewing ,resizing, converting image files.
daim, gimp is free and easy for that. open file.jpg->save->file.gif (saved by extention )

If you have graphics programs such as photoshop or paint shop pro you should be able to convert easily. Try renaming the extension though, it might work! 
I use firmtools shellextention to change image extentions.

Its only 520 KB in size. And you can easily convert image formats by this. Just right click on the image and choose the format in which you want to change the image format into.

Of course, you can convert the image to many format like png, bmp, jpg, and with this software, you can manipulate your image instantly. You can download plugin for vcd, flash, dvd, soun, etc player.
Lol, that's very easy. Just open the .gif file in Paint, and resave it as .jpg. Done :p

yup, I have found it, but was unsure on how to install it. It is in its source code form, i think. Is there any .exe file?
The best program for converting image program is Logipole Konvertore. It also supports converting other file types (all image file types, video file types and some other specific file types). I could'n found a program which would have more file types support.
Maybe you will find a program which is better only for converting images but Logipole Konvertore can convert almost everything!
