PHP & MySQL login??

frederick
If anyone has a login script that works on our server please can you post it here and instructions on how to use. I currently have one in ASP but I have to use a seperate server to use it. I want a PHP one so that I can host all on one host with no ads.

Thanx

Hello frederick,

I have a members logon in my forum that is available for download for free.

Please register as i need some more people on the site.

Click on my website link. I hope you will find it usefull.

My forum has now changed and does not have this function yet.

There are many examples at http://www.hotscripts.com . Or, you could use the search function in the board and find lots of threads about member logins. Wink

After looking at a number of them, the one I liked was from http://prods.bevort.com/pps.php, but I have not tried it here, though I don't see why it wouldn't work.

i built you an little example to mysql login (but it is really not secured)

Code:

// you come to this page like this: login.php?u=username&p=password

$username = $_GET["u"];
$password = $_GET["p"];

$query = mysql_query("select * from users where username='$username' and password='$password'");
$check = mysql_num_rows($query);

if($check > 0){
set_cookie( bla bla bla );
} else {
echo "wrong enter";
}

If you dont understand something please tell me

This one is actually on my site:
http://webbie.zach.frih.net/projectOne.php

It's also a profile system, which you probably won't need from the sounds of it. But it should help.

Dont use "?u=username&p=password" and $_GET: there not very secure
(they show up in browser history, and your password can be seen by
onlookers. use a quick html, and use $_POST (in place of $_GET):
Code:

<html><body>
<form action="login.php" method="POST">
UserName:<input type="text" name="u"><br>
PassWord:<input type="password" name="p"><br>
<input type=submit value="Login!">
</form>
</body></html>

In addition, use md5($password) so that it is never transmitted as plaintext.
