du you think the treatment being mented to Ganguly is due to some poitical pressure or some internal politics inside BCCI and Greg.
Sourav Ganguly
hmm it maybe partly due to politics inside the bcci. but dont forget that ganguly himself was not a very clean person. he had favoured a few players over the others at times.. and he is just getting it back now,
i dont feel sorry for him having lost his place in the team. but a player of his caliber should not have been humiliated that way.. he is still one of the best batsmen in this world and he deserves it.

Ganguly deserves what he is getting..
But of course Sachin is no better, he is not in form at all, going on an injury and surgery marathon now a days
I feel, whatever acheivement one has done, he should be dropped when his time is over with.
Sure, we enjoyed sachin's play, but nobody wants him to ruin the team

i think the whole ganguly thing got blown out of proportion by the media (dont they lvoe doing that) and now its reached a level where it will be hard to go back....
all said and done, ganguly should have been shown some more respect
and yes, tendulkar....i really hope he retires after WC2007... he's already set all the records he had to, achieved most sportsppl wouldnt in their entire lifetimes....might as well be gentleman about it and retire
there are enough young guns waiting to make a lasting impression

Media has blown the Ganguly saga out of proportion. Ganguly too, just like other players can be rested or dropped from the squad anytime. When Very Very Special Laxman is dropped no one cries foul and it doesn't become Newspaper frontpage stuff, but when Ganguly is dropped all sort of theories are put up by media.
Let Ganguly performs and bounce back with his form if he has to come back to the team. Otherwise, why not just go away with dignified way. He will be still one of the most successful captains India has ever produced. The problem with Sourav was he stood for some players and to those players he was like God, a very good persons. But how about who are rejected because of his favoritism? There are many issues to resolve and this is just tiresome. Let's forget and move on.

honestly, I do wish sachin retires gracefully instead of being thrown out unceremoniously like ganguly
That would not be the right way for a batsman of his calibre to go out

Please don't compare Ganguly and Sachin. Ganguly deserves what is getting now.
Respected no players nor the Coach. Most of the team members, does not want him to be in the Team.
Ganguly is supposed to be a good politician
inside the Team.
I personally feel that Ganguly's cricket career is 75% finished off in this controversy. Whether he plays well or in the Local League matches, no-body cares about him. After all this is Indian Cricket.
Though no-body knows the actual truth, but still no fire without smoke.
And i don't think that we should be discussing about Sachin's Form or Retirement - as Nobody in our Indian Team, except Dravid has shown consistency or performed well over the years.
Recent West Indies tour is also a good example.
We should learn consistency from South Africa and Australia.
keep smiling

YOu seemt o be forgetting though that without Ganguly these "young guns" wouldn't be here. If not for Gangualy, we wouldn't have had Harbhajan, Yuvraj or Kaif.
Another important thing to remember is that it was Ganguly who made the Indians get used to winning. He started the attitude. If not for a captain who's not afraid of anything, we wouldn't have been winning. We'd still have been struggling like also-rans, going home and crying to mommy and daddy about the evil Australian players who sledge at us.
WHen Gangualy took over as captain, in the beginning, when he was in full control of the team, there was no stopping him. He only lost his captainship skills after he started failing with the bat. The pressure of having to perform well probably got to him. In my opinion, Gangualy should have been a non-playing captain. He wasn't playing well, but he was definitely leading very well.
As far as Sachin is concerned, I am pretty sure that he's a reasonable guy. If he thinks he can't put in his best efforts, he surely will retire. As for his injuries, I don't see what the big deal is.... if he's injured and not playing, then the "young guns" can take his place anyway. If he's not injured and capable of performing up to his mark, then let him play and boost the team's morale. Why cry over his injuries when his injuries are the reason the other young and new players are getting a chance to play?

Apart from Bradman name a batsman who has scored in every match, every series. Just because we have high expectations from sachin doesn't means hes really out of form. Injury? is it sachin's fault if he gets an injury? and by the way his surgery took only few hours and not a marathon but yes one has to heal his muscles back.

Ruin the team...hmmm i'm not sure where that comes from. Sachin makes the batting easier at other end.Just his presence makes lot of difference.

That is too funny. My dear friend do you know we didn't win a single test series under his ca[taincy overseas, not even against zim lol. In ODI his record is touch over 50 % with the team strength we had in past I think thats very low. and do you really know how many finals india had lost in row under him?

No. Problem with sourav is that he plays politics in cricket team to keep his place up. He never tried to improve himself, his fielding, batting and bolwing all have gone down with time. There was a time when he use to be among best off side player and now they easily get him out there.
He was always jealous of sachin and even tried to push him down the order just to keep his opening slot.

All i've to say here is he's the same guy who made excuse of his injury because he was scared of losing in one of the test v/s aus as the wicket had grass on it. Andrew clearly said he cant find anything wrong. and where he went during the match? to shoot for an ad.
