plug and play os

well,

can anyone tell me what is plug and play os in advaced boot configuration settings ?

well basically I entered into boot set up of my machine and then to advaced boot configuration and there was a option of plug and play os which has two opions [yes] or no. This option was set at [no] but i turned it [yes] out of curosity.

can you tell me what this is all about ?

basically if the OS is smart enough (Windows xp, or 2.6 linux) then it doensn't matter.
