Frih.net going down every once in awhile tonight...

Marston
Server 2 has been going on and off all night... This is the message I get:

Quote:
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at xzact.frih.net.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This is just normal since Server 2 can get loads of request at some points in time. Sometimes, the load is just too much for the server that it "breaks down".

It is a free service so why should anyone complain. If you want 99.9% uptime then go to a paid service provider.

I cannot complain about the service i have received so far.

Top notch job amin Applause

The problem is that the monitoring service always thinks that apache is down/not working and restarts it. This causes that the websites are unavailable for a few seconds every x (currently 30) minutes.

Removing the monitoring of apache is not a good idea either as it happens from time to time that apache is still running, but not giving any output and needs to be restarted. (the other monitoring services are only restarting apache if it isn't running anymore)
