To display an image you will need to use the "IMG" tags, like so...
[img]URL to image[/img]
This will then display an image into the forum thread, like so...
The image has to be linked to the direct image. For the image to display it has to be in a image format - for exaple I used the following code:

*note that large images that break the page layout should be given as a link, not embedded. With the URL's above, some create thumbnails so this will not be a problem.
You can also create your own thumbnails by uploading a smaller version of your image to display, and then linking it to the larger version like so:
