DNS problem - DNSservers must be different?

dotnet
I try to change nserver names on my domain's registrar. So - I go to his control panel, clear current value for nserver field and type:
ns1.frih.net 216.32.85.170
ns2.frih.net 216.32.85.171
And press "Change info". All I get is error:
Quote:
Critical error: you must point out at least two DNS-servers located IN DIFFERENT networks of 'C' class.

Our nameservers are on the same C-class ip. And apart from some big websites, that's the same for all nameservers being used. It's the normal setup for a server.

I'm curious, which registrar are you using? It's the first time I see this.
dotnet
My domain is like ***.org.ru and my registrar is https://www.ripn.net/ and the rule I talk about is here: https://www.ripn.net/nic/dns/en/dom_t.html. On this page(it's in English) see section 'nserver:', especially the phrase in bold within this section.

All I can think of is using http://freedns.afraid.org/ for your domain and there point it to us. They should different c-class ips.
dotnet
I have registered on http://freedns.afraid.org/ but I don't completely understand my next step. Of course, now I CAN change nserver names on my domain's registrar to freedns's nservers. But what next? Should I make new record in freedns's control panel about CNAME and point my ***.org.ru domain to ***.frih.net (sub)domain? Or should I make new record of 'Type A'? Please, somebody - help!!

Thanks in advance! Rolling Eyes

No, you should rather choose the A or NS records and point it to either our nameservers (ns1.frih.net / ns2.frih.net) or our ip (216.32.85.170).

Yes, I did it. I chose (in freedns's control panel) item 'IP addresses (A)' and enter:
Quote:
Domain Name IP Address
***.org.ru 216.32.85.170
***.org.ru 216.32.85.171
www.***.org.ru 216.32.85.170
www.***.org.ru 216.32.85.171

Now when I type ***.org.ru in my browser I get
Quote:
This IP is being shared among many domains.

Hmm... You are absolutely right! It's mine and it's work!! That's really screwy - the day before yesterday I permanently get the message from my previous post. Now all work just fine. And I didn't do anything... In any case - thank you very much for yours hints! They help me a lot to set-up my domain/host. Smile

Ooooo no... not again! I have opened "normal"(with FRIHOST template) start-page by link http://dotnet.org.ru/ two or three times. And NOW it's again say:

I'm not sure what the problem is, but it is certainly related to dns.

Anyway, it seems like the domain is pointing to the ip 216.32.85.171. Maybe try 216.32.85.170, as that one is the main ip of the server?

Edit, I restarted named and it seems to be working again. This is weird. Confused

I have excluded ***.171 and keep ***.170 only in 'IP addresses (A)'. Let's see if this help....
