Hey everybody, I'm probably stretching myself out on a limb here, but I need some help, espically if you are/were in high school, which I think should cover everybody here.
I am in desperate need of questions from people. The questions can pretty much be about anything, but the main area I want to focus on is anything relating to christanity, god, jesus, the bible, and other stuff like that, or anything even remotely related to that. It doesn't have to be a question you currently have, one you had in the past (espically in your teens) would be beyond appreciated. And I guess it doesn't even really have to be formed as a question.
Questions asked would be used to help stear the direction of a few talks that would be given to current high school students.
I'm not looking to start a debate about who is right and who is wrong, or a bash-fest, I'm just reaching out for some help from the online community. Any question goes, like the old saying, there are no stupid questions. I'd also love it if some of the people who aren't into christanity threw up some questions. I've been honored to have gotten some pieces of people lives around here, and I'm specifically thinking about some of the christians turned atheist, what questions/concerns lead to that change.
Thank you for reading this, and please post, I am suppose to have some questions by sunday. Also, if you have questions, but don't want to post them here, please feel free to send me a private message, or if you wish to remain totally anonymous, I have an online form here.
1. What are the differences between liberal and conservative Christian theology and too which do you adhere?
2. Why do conservative Christians think that all non-Christians go too Hell while liberal Christians believe that good and loving people go too Heaven regardless of faith?
3. What are the parallels and connections between religious and political expressions of liberalism and conservatism?
mike, thanks bro, those are good, got any other questions hanging out in that head of yours?
A classic medieval question:
Is a person who shares two heads, one or two people, versus one head with two bodies? in other words, does multiple embodiment equal multiple idenity or is that determined by separate personalities and memories? Based on this: What does it mean to speak of a monotheistic trinity?

at first I was so confused, but the last sentence clears it up. I've never thought of it like that. Thanks man.
Who is the Holy Ghost/Spirit and how is it/he seperate from God?
here is one that I have asked (without response) in these forums...Where did langauge (any language) come from? Did it begin with simple vocalizations, or was it more ordered and with purpose?
He wants questions fom a Christian theological context.
hey vryth, is it just me or have you been absent from this neck of the woods lately? Good to see ya floating around again.

loving that question man!!

Islam teaches that the trinity makes Christianity polytheistic. The truth is that Christians give so little thought to the trinity that not one in a hundred can tell you what the Holy Ghost is. They just dont care. Islam totally exaggerates the relevance of the trinity to Christianity. To Christians it is just an oddity that has no relevance. To Muslims it is a huge issue because they want to make a mountain out of a mole hill in order to drum up religious bigotry.

yeah, I guess I have been a bit absent...just trying to reel my big mouth into line a little
I am still around, but Thank You very much for the welcome...it's nice to be appreciated
Just for the record...my question does have serious theological implications...hence the "order and purpose" part.

The same thing I have against conservative Christianity: they are expressions of religious bigotry.
The difference is that conservative Christians distort the Bible to support there portrayal of God as a bigot, whereas the Qur'an is inherently bigoted. You can find many quotes that seem to mitigate this, but those quotes have to be taken out of context to assert that the Qur'an is not bigoted. For every mitigating quote there are dozens more that rile angrily against Christians and Jews.
WE MUSLIMS are not Intolerant towards others aiight?

I didn't say that all Muslims are, but that the Qur'an is. It depends on whether or not you focus on the character and life of Mohammed, or more exclusively on the Qur'an as to whether or not an individual Muslim is intolerant.
Hey a_dubDesign, how did this conference turn out?

It turned out pretty well, we were a little worried because we weren't getting many questions in, but two days or so before we did it we got a bunch submitted, which was sweet except for the scrambling to figure out what ones to address and which ones to combine and then figure out how to address them.
The best part, at least for me, was seeing the kids feel safe enough to ask questions, which led to them asking more questions and actually wrestling with stuff instead of having it spoon fed to them, something that seems to plague christianity quite a bit. I'm of the thought that questioning truth leads to more truth and usually deeper truth, but not everyone feels the same way so there was some varying opinions of how great that part was.
Thanks for asking.

Sounds like the ones who thought it didn't go so well were some real stuffed shirts? I hope that they were not people with authority in your group.
