This is just a suggestion.
I agree the competition is high and prices have to be low.
But your prices are just too low, though your creations may be good.
Reconsider it.
Because you spend about 5 minutes making a banner/logo to get 1 frih$.
You can get twice that in 1/10 th the time by making one post.
This of course is a great way to get orders, but I am not sure it will be fruitful in the long run.
Well.. Like any buisness, everything starts cheap.. Prices can change over time..
Ensure that you are not worn out by the time the prices go up
Always save the best for last in this scenario becuase at 1frih$ your losing time and money and also the respect of frihosters. Starting out this low could earn you a bad rep and also if your work cant be worth standard rates than should you even be selling(ask yourself that)?
I may be one of everyones largest competitors on frihost but im not trying to discourage you but having samples and some good refferals would probally help.
Start loooking for contests and small jobs on the marketplace to start with and name a standard rate. If you are using gimp or photoshop you should have no problem creating a peice of art.
Also this post right here probably will get my 4frih$ and 4 points so its a win situation and now if i wanted to i could buy four of your logos or sigs.
If you need some small jobs just pm me and ill pay you to work freelance for me.

yaa.. Soo.. I'm cheap.. I'm always lower than everyone else.. Wheather it's sellin a boat, snowmobile, or even a web design, they price is low.. The quality of my pics isn't like, draw dropping, OM*G stuff... That's why it's low.. As soon as I figure out Photoshop and Fireworks, my pics are gonna be super great, and a little more costy, but still the cheapest..

Also, tell me how big you want the text, and what order you want it in. I can also add pics and put text over it Lets see your some of your better stuff. You wait so long not to post any samples and then you post your half quality work. Come on show us what you got. Make some sick sig, maybe ill buy it if it looks half way decent.

I can make the text more readable.. And that one took about 3-4 minutes to do.. And the top one took about a minute.hs - my advice is to experiment.

goodWell as a designer who started about...4 months ago with a free sig/design store I recommend you do that too, no offense but over more than 6 months you haven't really gotten much better, and unlike everyone else, I really hate tutorials, I observe what has been done in other peoples sigs and try it out, just recently I trashed my old style, not an easy thing to do and tried all over again, so I recommend that you start going for free and build up a good reputation, get some more experience, start trying new things and eventually if you want start charging, I am still experimenting, because in graphic design you can never stop evolving.
But above all, do not stop with Photoshop/Fireworks/Gimp/Whatever, just try new things.

This guy needs to go to some tuorials and learn how to make decent backrounds with the actual render, or atleast with brushes.
No offense man, but none of those are hard to do, most of them were just adedtext, and maybe it looked like you cut the snowmobile out. But the one with the dude playing the guitar, though it looked kinda cool, its crap. Takes about 15 seconds to do, and thats no joke its just one filter, and its done.
www.gamerenders.com they have in their forums a tutorial place, there is sometimes good tuts in there, check some of them out.

Umm.. No. I had to first darken the light a little. Then put a mid-sketch into it, then I had to clone stuff. Then, I mid-sketched again. I had to re-lighten it, and change the contrast.
But, somebody has got the first one, where they want a graphic, and I'm waiting for them to send back some more details on what they want, then I'll post it here.here's somat for you to try hs, make a logo saying:
