Totals for directory
The directory should have totals next to each subcatagory (and perhaps a grand total) so that it would look like this:
...
philosophy and religeon -0 sites
personal -2 sites
...
total -32 sites
This would make browsing the directory just a little easier, because you don't waste time on empty or almost empty catagories.
Later on, it would be purely informative.

It is a good idea but the truth is how easy would it be. It may also get messed up if something happens to frihost or what ever.
Or they just could not put a link, But thats not very professional in my opinion and confusing not to mention.
Ocalhoun, that's a great idea! I forgot about that actually, I was planning to do it though. But the directory isn't finished, so that's a good excuse. 
Blaster, it's just a few automated sql queries counting the values, nothing special and it shouldn't mess up anything.
I tried to code the directory that way that similar things are easy to do so that I can add or change a category or the listings with just one change or new mysql entry.

oh then it is a really good idea. I am all for the idea. This means i have to learn phpbb. I hope that this works then
