Well, These have yet to be released in America but I heard word that it might be around '09.
Anyways, I was just wondering on your opinions on the skylines, To me it is the car I want when they release it (even though the price is going to skyrocket in america compared to the real price of it, It would more likely be cheaper to order it and have it shipped to america)..
Heres some specs of the R34:
1999-2002 GT-R GT-R Vspec
Weight 3388 lbs 3432 lbs
Length 181.1 in 181.1 in

I spoke with a Nissan dealership, and talks are of releasing the new skyline in 2007, except it will most likely be badged as an Infinity...
That would be sweet as long as they dont make it all curvy like they have with the Primera and Almera.
actually the nissan badge stays. they're gonna use the concept skyline for the 2007 model.
It will be badged Nissan here in the US? That's the first I heard...
Can you no import them and get them passed by whatever the US equivalent of the SVA test is(if you dont know what it is, google it) £4k would easily get you one.
$4000! Could Get You One. Oh My Now Thats Cheap For A Thing Like That I Like The Car It Has Nice Interier And If You Dont Like It Then Do It Up (Get It Pimped)
I went and looked up prices on skylines a year or so ago, and they run right around $85k USD for a 99 GT-R with around 50k miles on it. That's including import fees of about $30k USD for emissions and everything. I don't know if it's changed by now, but yeah...spendy but worth it for that gen and year.
gunner thats £4000 UK sterling, and of course that was import to the UK, I have no idea wat its like for the US market. That was also a second hand machine.
The nissan skyline is one car very ast and good. It can be transformated very easy and all the time it will be great.

Not quite sure what you are saying?? If you like a Skyline, keeping it stock would most likely fetch the best value. Personally I think that all Japanese sports cars are overrated and cost too much for the performance that you get out of them. If you wan't to go fast and really like Japanese vehicles, buy a sportbike!
if you have skyline, you don't need to worry about it's power. the sock peak power it really enough, but you always can put $$$$$ it to your car, and more you put, more power you have... an about the price, it is woth to pay such a big price, because you get JAPANESE LAMBORGHINI or FERARRI or PORSCHE.. you get best quality car from them, so sit and drive, till you get into the tree, because these monsters are not for everyone, you have to know how to drive
It's a good car, yeah. Here's some photos of it, if anyone want's to see what it's looks like:
P.S: Many more pictures of Nissan Skyline you can find HERE.

you can get import then into the statas or canada but the car needs to be modified to comply with the laws and stuff, to make it "safer".
and to the people who say this car is over rate... I say,
RB26DETT

RB26DETT
The last series of the RB26DETT produced 280PS (206kW) @ 6800 rpm and 289ft/lb (392Nm) @ 4400 rpm. However, several stock and unmodified engines have been dyno tested and reported to obtain nearer the 320hp mark. It is widely renowned for its strength and extreme power potential, as some examples have been known to produce over 1000hp (735kW) with relatively minor modifications. It is not uncommon for 600hp to be archieved without any alterations being made to the internal engine components, and the engine block can supposedly hold horsepower values approaching 1360hp (1000kw).
With regular maintenance, many of these engines can also be driven way past the 100,000 mile mark, with a few examples heading toward 200,000 miles, due mainly to precise and meticulous upkeep.
It was used in the following cars:
* Nissan Skyline GT-R R32
* Nissan Skyline GT-R R33
* Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 |
all I can say is, OWNAGE!
I Heard they decided to keep the nissan badge also. I like the skyline but it took me a while to get used to the concept and the supposed final vesion they showed a while back. I have heard about some companies out in Cali imported used r 34's and modifying them to meet US standards. but I know that some insurance comapnies try not to insure imported cars or charge a premium for it. if you are in the armed service and are eligible for USAA icoverage, you can import most cars.
The R34 was a beautiful car. I still think it looks better than the new one.
but it's been a while since i looked at a photo of the new one, so if they have made any changes since the last update. I may change my mind.
Sweet car. Only 100 available in europe? I think? or is it somewhere else? :/
R34's are pretty common (for 'performance jap cars' anyway) over here in the UK. Personally I liked them until they hit corsa/nova status....
That is, the Fast & Furious totally killed them, imho! They're overated - standard anyway
PS. The 'R35' that seems to still be under development.... well my mate spotted one in Glasgow on the way to uni and took a photo - absolutely no idea what it was doing in glasgow, but I can assure you, it WAS a skyline...
