I use a number of them, but one main one.

Zend Studio is simply great, but it is at a cost. It has an embedded php interpreter for debugging as well as a host of other features that are useful, including features for documentation generation.

Many similar features can be found in Maguma Open Studio. This is also a good IDE for PHP.

Notepad++ is also quite useful as a text editor. It is extremely lightweight and opens faster than notepad, itself. That says a lot. Free and open source. If you are new to programming and never used an IDE of any sort, then this text editor will be great to learn what you need to know since it won't complicate the process of learning programming with features, it will just let you see and edit code very efficiently.

Thanks for the links! Been looking for a simple editor for a long time now.. Dreamweaver was just too "bulky" and notepad was just too.. "notepad"?
