Quantum Computing.....wht is it all about?

varun_dodla
Hi,
Thought I will share some information I gathered with all of you...and you r all free to share your thoughts abt this...

"Nanotechnology is revolutionizing every field and our very outlook of the future by presenting us new ideas and capabilities never imagined till now even in our wildest dreams! One of the primary applications of Nano technology in electronics is "The Quantum computer". The present day computer works on the basis of Boolean logic gates in which transistors are the primary devices. The computers based on microprocessors have changed the way we live and continue to do so. At this moment it is relevant to ask a question "Can’t we build a computer which works based on different principle other than using solid state devices?" and scientists say the answer is yes! we also know that our human brain is a processor and it does not contain any silicon solid state devices to compute! This can intuitively justify the existence of innovative ways to build computers. Scientist’s r exploring new ways of computing like DNA computing where DNA sequences r used, Enzyme and Protein computing where molecular properties are used to compute. Quantum computer works on the principles of quantum mechanics, which govern the behavior of fundamental particles. Instead of ordinary bits these use Qubits. Quantum computers are very tiny because they use atoms to compute! Quantum computers have computational power billions of times than that of ordinary computer. Undoubtedly, Quantum computer is the super computer of the next generation, which will have a profound effect on our lives!"

Eh, I'd say that's the computer of the generation after the next generation.
The next generation will probably use massively parrelel proccesing using more conventional computers.
Using cluster technology you can get a very nice supercomputer for under $100,000 as opposed to the usual price of $1,000,000+.
As off-the-shelf computers become even cheaper, you'll see more and more personal supercomputers.

That sortof reminds me of Lawnmower Man. Computer technology advancing past human understanding.

In brief you discussed what is QUANTUM Computing.

defintely as you said.... OUR LIFES WOULD BE BETTER IN THE COMING FUTURE>

any was a good article.

KEEP POSTING Cool

now that's interesting!!!!

sure need a faster computer like that.... this old can just can't put up with my needs!!!

great article!!!!
