The current elections in Peru are intense to say the least. The 3 head runners are (Humala) a leftist militant backed by Hugo Chavez with a questionable human rights recored who vows to empower the poor, (Flores) a conservitive who favors the rich and the united states, and (Garcia) an ex peruvian prez who ruined the econmy when he was last in office.
The first round of votes are 99% counted with Humala holding 30% of the vote, Garcia with 24%, and Flores with 23%. Sense no one won by 50% there will be a runoff vote between the top 2 held on May 28th. We'll see what happens.
