Is there a widget that can display the output of my webcam on top of all other windows?

I'm just testing somehting and I really need such widget.

Oh, I know some Python, so maybe you can tell me how to access the output of my camera? (it's connected via USB, of course)
Than maybe I'll be able to construct my own widget..
