We were all sad to find that Helios had finished his Guess What's On The Picture contest, and to avoid there being a great big black hole where his contest once was, I've decided to start my own
Here's the rules... 3 Guesses each, 20 FRIH$ for teh winner of each round. I'm also looking for a specific answer, not "Something like..." (yup, Helios is
and so am I
) And I might give clues if I think you need them.
So here we go with round one - GOOD LUCK!
----------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: I didn't realise Helios had "Copyrighted" the guess-what's-on-the-picture idea (since the text was hidden
). However, we had a talk about it and he's given me permission to run the contest for the moment - thanks Helios!
(and apologies again for the misunderstanding!)
So, this is not an original idea (never claimed that it was) all credit to Helios, the all-powerful, all-evil Moderator
I should also add that this idea is Copyright (c) Helios and you need his permission, not mine if you want to run a similar thread.

Animal is a poser.
This is a printer/faxer
Can you give me a clue its way to blurry ?
I'll just make it official, if you don't mind:
I officially pass all the rights to use the idea of the contest "Guess what's on the picture" to Animal(user ID 8751) a.k.a animalthemuppet.
Animal now has all the rights to run this contest until the end of days or until I(Helios [user ID 98] a.k.a Helios Zepp a.k.a -SainT-) and Animal will have another agreement between us and us only.
Please, enjoy the contest!
Animal, no hard feelings. Enjoy running it!

It's small and rectangular.

Nope. Think smaller.
This becomes a bit easier if you sit further away from the screen!

No it's not a pen. One guess left in this round TeenZine.

It's the whole image. The image is intentionally zoomed in and blurred, but the thing you're trying to recognise takes up the entire image.
You're right. It is somewhat easier to see further away.
Is it USB ports?

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
You're correct, it's a USB port.

I suppose I'll give you that one! It is PSP-compatible memory, but the answer I was really looking for was it's a Memory Stick (would also accept Pro, Duo and Pro Duo for all the geeks out there
)
Congrats TeenZine - 20FRIH$ on their way to you!

One more guess left this round Scorpio.
CLUE: Virtually every computer has one of these in one form or another.
These are some parts placed on the mainboard or some card's PCB. The purple element and these two small are the condensers

Sorry, but you're wrong - not even close, in fact!
2 guesses left this round Sebaci

Hmm I will try to explain (I don't speak english well):
This is a little lever placed with the socket of the processor and it's used to "lock" the CPU
I am just going to wait before using my last chance

is it LED?
afracsass wrote:

Nope, it's not an LED. Two guesses left afracass!
CLUE: You get internal (built-in) versions of these and you get external versions. The external ones are much more common than internal.

Wireless hards or like wireless internet.
Blaster wrote:

Not even close.
It's something that you use rather than something that is used by the computer.
it's a laptop mouse, blaster, you gotta be more specific! (give him the money anyway though
)
Blaster wrote:

Woo Hoo! You're correct, it's a laptop "button" mouse in the middle of a keyboard! 20FRIH$ on their way to you Blaster.
Bogger, yes, you're specific, but the picture does show a keyboard and a mouse - you'll need to get there quicker in the next round!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another one for you all:
Good Luck (again!)

that looks like your laptop cover, (a dell inspiron maybe, but don't hold me on that)

)
Sebaci wrote:

No, I'm afraid it's not.
BIG CLUE: Ok, this is a difficult one so here's a big clue for you:
It has absolutely nothing to do with computers. The black mark on it is actually text - it's part of the name of the item's manufacturer. The item is circular.
Any new guesses?

I have no clue about what it can be, but is the first letter in the text a 'Z'?
its a golf ball
i havent played this even tho ive been watching this forum for quite a while well thisis my guess..
a CD-ROM/DVD/CD .. the middle part of it?
He said it was nothing related to computers
Is CD DVD something else??
oh didnt read sorry?
somethign circular..something plastic... a ball of some sort?
Two chances gone for you and I still cant think of anything

Nope, it's not plastic or a ball - sorry RaMo, 1 guess left this round.
Ok, so you're obviously all struggling so here are some CLUES!
The letter you can see in the picture is a Z. This is the first letter in the word.
The object is a metal alloy consisting of 92% Copper and 8% Tin
The object is 14" in diameter
Any new guesses?
I am not sure about the Z
But it is the circular thing used in percussion instruments In a drum
A cymbal i guess
Zildjian perhaps

Think smaller than an amplifier.

Not that either - you're out Blaster!
I'm surprised you're having so much difficulty with this one, so I'd better give you a clue:
This item is very small - only about 1.5cm (less than an inch). Items like this are often gold-plated.
Is it the thing you use to play the guitar?
Or a gold plated connector for a earphone?
the earphone/mic jack, again, TOO LATE >
scorpio wrote:

I know I said I wanted specifics, but that's close enough!
The item in the picture is a 3.5mm stereo earphone jack - Congratulations Scorpio! 20 FRIH$ go to you!

I don't really know what specific item you mean, but you're wrong anyway
You're not even remotely in the ballpark! Two guesses left, dz9c!
Eh lol...Um maybe a shiny sticker? Clue please!
it looks like a chain, more specifically a watch chain.
