IMAP

Hi Moderators / Admins,

I suggest, if you have the time or if it's possible, to put IMAP on your servers, because in some PHP sites, you can put a webmail service and you need IMAP to run it... Its a really useful ''toy'' Laughing

Thanks you.
Tommy.

IMAP is a pretty standard feature of any webserver, really.
and it is already installed and running on FRIHost.

IMAP is a facility for retreving email, in that way it is like POP3, but that is where the similarities end. It is meant for email boxes with large amounts of storage because it always leaves all messages on the server. It also supports folders.

IMAP is another protocol like POP

You can have folders and connect from several PC in the same box in the same time.

But I dislike the system for deleting because you must delete 2 times messages for really delete them.

uhhh I use 'empty trash on exit'.

Shocked

IMAP predates POP3 AFAIK but YMMV
