First of all, if you don't already have firefox, get it now.
http://www.getfirefox.com
Give the name of your extension and what it is, then give a link to it.
Adblock v 0.5 - Great for blocking annoying ads https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/10/
Don't worry admins I normally use IE for the forum even though it's crap
Adblock Filterset.G Updater - A good addition that helps alot
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1136/
All in one Siderbar - Awesome for organising everything from extensions to history - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1027/
Customize Google - This extension removes the adds from google that show up on the left, and also adds a list of other search engines across the top to show your search on including Yahoo, Ask, AllTheWeb, Teoma, MSN, Lycos, Technorati, Feedster, Wikipedia, Bloglines, Altavista. I have never any trouble with it - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/743/
Download Statusbar - Adds a bar down the bottom that organises your downloads, definitely give it a go, that annoying download pop-up doesnt come up - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/26/
Inform Enter - Unlike those form enter extensions that make you fill out fields and it tries to do it when a form comes up, with this there is a white box next to every form box, and when you click it is a list of what you put as the forms - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/673/
ieTab - I use this regularaly when a site only displays properly in ie, it opens an ie tab in firefox, but it uses the ie rendering engine - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
SearchPluginHacks - And of course I have this one, which allows you to write click an engine in the integrated search bar and delete it - https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1563
UPDATED
I now have 2 pretty awesome gmail extensions:
Gmail Notifier - Since people don't you googletalk, it's good for telling me when I get new emails. It is just a little thing in the corner, and automatically logs in when I open firefox, and I configured to check for new mail every 1 minute - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/173/
Gspace - you can use your gmail space (more than 2 gigs) and upload your files, not unlike ftp - https://addons.mozilla.org/addon.php?id=1593

Definitely get Filter.G Updater then, you'll notice a huge difference.

How come you use google toolbar, why not just use the search bar on the left?
A quick reminder to Adblock users - it is against forum rules to use adblock on the Frihost forums. All you need to do is right-click on the Adblock icon and hit "Disable" when you're on the Frihost forums.
Filterset.G blocks Frihost's ads so if you use it, you must disable adblock on these forums.
You have been warned
my extensions :
1. no script
2. flashgot
3. del.icio.us
4. colorzilla
5. web developer
my extensions:
DOM Inspector
Talback
Flashblock (not used now)
Gmail manager
i really like
*Adblock
*SessionSaver
*RSS struction..
Adblock
Remove unwanted ads. Of course; disabled on frihost
Quick Note
Have up to four "note-tabs" on the sidebar. If you close the browser, its there when you open it again. Easy and available, without having to manually saving the files, and remember where you put them.
NoScript
Do not run Java Scripts on webpages unless I white list the site (Like Frihost)
BBCode
Makes it easyer to make BBCode on forums.
Web Developer
This is a wonderful tool for web developers that wants to check their sites, or find out why the webpage doesn't show correctly. You can edit css and html on other sites and see the changes as you type. Menus for validating and checking your site to see if it's user friendly etc (there are similar extensions for Safari, IE and Opera)
Link Toolbar
If the webpage has rel links for next, previous, etc, you can navigate via this toolbar.
Sage
rss/atom reader for Firefox. It doesn't store anything, only format the feed with a css-file of your choice.
Translate
Translate a webpage or sentence. I found it very useful when I google for some information, and only find the answers on f.ex a french site.
Tab Mix Plus
Gives you many cool and useful tab-features. My Firefox is lost without it :)

FireFTP https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/684/

I use many extensions but the most important in my opinion are:
-all in one gestures
-gmail notifier
And of course my favourite extension is all in one gestures, it's super.
Gestures is a nice extension!!
But why do you need that Gmail Notifier for Firefox!
It will notify about new mails, only if there is any firefox opened window!
Otherwise, it will not notify!
So try to go for Google's GMail Notifier!
Its a tray Icon and displays a small sliding window on
bottom right corner if a new mail arrives
and will show the subject and a little of mail contents!
Try that one!
Details at: http://mail.google.com/mail/help/notifier/

| The Gmail Notifier is an application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages. It displays an icon in your system tray to let you know if you have unread Gmail messages, and shows you their subjects, senders and snippets, all without your having to open a web browser. |

These are the extensions I have got installed:

IE Tab 1.0.9
Crash Recovery 0.6.7
httProxy 0.8.6
CuteMenus 2 0.6.3
Page Title Eraser 0.2.0
*Can you tell me what httProxy is used for?
When i choose "Open Link via httProxy", nothing comes, it just loads for ages and then it says "Problem loading Page"
and once I wanted a crack, so I went to crackspider.net, and it was blocked, so chose "Open Link via httProxy", and again it loaded for ages, and then said "Problem loading Page"
So I dont get what it is used for
[/u]
I like these extensions:
PDF download (don't need Adobe slurping my memory anymore)
super drag and go
and google search bar
Thanks for info, i added a few plugins i liked from the list u said

I regularly use my emails and there is this extension "eWebmail Colour and Graphics" extension to enable html effects in ur mails and it works with Yahoo!, Hotmail, Gmail and MyWay Mail. This enables me to use my yahoo signature when I mail from firefox either in windows or from Linux.
You can find it at: http://patsis.brownhost.com/extxpi.html#ewebmail
Just chk it out its cool
Its really gr8 i use firefox, had given ie a run for its money. Well i use:
Session Saver: Its a gr8 extention for me particularly, it just saves everything, mi history, mi sessions, tabs etc.
IE Tab: Another usefull extention, well there are some sites which are only intended for IE, thats why being a web designer gotto use this ext.
Tabbrowser Preferences: well it gives the tab browsing a new level of experience.
Regards
nishant kalia
first if all 'hello' to all the fellow members on this forum this is my first post !

so anyone like to tell me??
1) Download Status Bar (Useful for showing progress at the bottom of the screen.)
2) Download Manager Tweak
3) Web Developer (I use this the most; it has a whole bunch of features helpful in designing a web site, such as screen resizing, show only table cells, etc.)
4) Mouse gestures
5) Google Pagerank Status
I used to use the new Google Toolbar extension, but Firefox started acting quirky and I didn't trust the thing so I deleted it.
I just switched to firefox since yesterday and I have the following extensions:
-Google Toolbar for Firefox
-Fasterfox
-IE Tab
I'm still looking for other usefull extensions
Mine are:
1)IE View
2) Dictionary Search
3) SMS Send - I unsinstalled already, it was useless for me because you still need to pay a certain amount to send text messages.
4) IE Tab
Adblock, adblock filterset, noscript, flashgot, dta, perfomancing.
FlashGot
IE Tab
Adblock
...are the ones I have
The GoogleBar, I guess, is the defacto extension everybody loves and uses.
Other than that, I like to use IE Tab extension, which lets you open links in a tab, where the parsing is performed by IE, hence some sites that are not W3C compliant but well viewed by IE can be viewed.
I also use FlashGot, which makes my Free Download Manager completely compliant with Firefox.
Finally I use FasterFox, which makes some tweaks for loading web pages faster.
is there an extension that makes just as the history a 'menu' on the left with the bookmarks?
like favourites in internet explorer?

I can't remember if firefox does it like you said when you press ctrl+h, but I have all-in-one sidebar and it does it - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1027/
thx for all those extensions.i installed those which i didnt have already
What are your Firefox extensions?
Have a look at my long list:
Web Annoyances
Adblock: A definite must have. Annoyance blocker, bandwidth saver. Recommend keep update its blacklist/whitelist with Filter set G.
Flashblock filter Flash elements at their source address for bandwidth conservation but easily display them if you like.
ImgLikeOpera only load images when you want or you can define filter policy for each site with dont load/load all/load cached only/load from originating website only.
Bug Me Not bypass the login of web sites that require compulsory registration and/or the collection of personal/demographic information
Download
Download Statusbar: View and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar - what I really like is its virus scanning function after completing download. For downloading large size file, I recommend use download manager.
FlashGot - Best Firefox Download Manager Integration. Support a lot of download managers.
Tab browsing/navigation
Tab Mix Plus: "Duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager with crash recovery".
Web Search Pro Search the web using a toolbar or through the context menu. Use keyboard only to search from a huge list of search engines. * keyconfig might be required to check pre-defined shotcut keys that could collide with search engine keyboard shortcut.
super drag and go Drag a link, text, image and throw it anywehere on your webpage to open it on a new tab. A feature I love very much from MyIE.
IETab: embeds Internet Explorer in a Mozilla/Firefox tab for opening IE's specific web pages. Now we can runWindows Update directly from Mozilla/Firefox.
Browser Enhanced Functions
All-In-One Sidebar quickly switch between sidebars, view dialog windows such as downloads, bookmarks, extensions, and more in the Opera-like sidebar. Extra URL-Tools Button (screenshot) gives you a lot of useful funtions such as go up/down site's hierarchy, download embedded files, Google cache, Wayback and WhoIs.
Keyconfig re-define keyboard shortcuts for Firefox.
Enhanced History Manager group visited sites and enhance search function [title/location] with [contains/not contain/starts with/ends with/is/isn't]
screenshot
Enhanced Bookmark Search search [name/location/desc/key] with [contains/not contain/starts with/ends with/is/not]
Bookmark Tags Organize bookmarks with categories.
News Reading
Feedview shows newsfeeds/blogs directly in firefox with a more stylish way.
platypus lets you modify a Web page from your browser in the way "What You See Is What You Get"
ScrapBook 'Most Useful Upgraded Extension' winner of Extend Firefox Contest, which helps you manage the collection of web pages, images, notes, snippets ...
Security
Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar Traps suspicious URLs, clearly displays sites' hosting location and other important information to help you to evaluate fraudulent urls.
SwitchProxy lets you use a proxy from the list or surf the web anonymously by using a list of proxies that it randomly switches at defined intervals.
By the way, Could someone recommend me an extension for managing bookmarks, Enhanced Bookmark Search is good but I need more feature to to deal over hundred links.
Thank you

maybe if I had read the first post beter I didn't had to ask
hope you can forgive me

normaly I won't double post but I have a question,,,
I have downloaded the All-In-One Sidebar and I'm verry happy with it
I added the e-mail button on it, and when I click it there comes a little menu with something like this:
read e-mail (0 new)
new message...
(my pc is in dutch soI translated
)
when I click new message... it will bring me to a gmail new message page like it should be but when I click read e-mail (0 new) then it will start Micrososft Outlook, now I removed it from my pc with add remove software.
is there someway to fix read e-mail (0 new) so it goes to my gmail inbox?
I have the gmail notifier running in the system tray but I hate it when things aren't working for the full 100%
thanks in advance
when I click 0 new it goes to my gmail inbox, so I don't know what's up with it
I use Adblock to block annoying advertisements and Chromedit.

adblock is better...just don't remember why. But be sure to get the filterset.g updater, blocks way more ads.

As far as I know, the only difference between Adblock and Adblock plus is the whitelist, wich is included in the Adblock Plus... The development of Adblock is stopped, but Adblock Plus continues on being updated.
I use only Adblock, Tab Mix Plus, and Bookmark Tags...but I'm definitely going to try some of these others ones out. Thanks for the list!

Click the icon and a drop down thing shows up.
ha ha..so simply, thanks for the answer...
DownThemAll
Faster Fox
Image Shack Right Click
Not too big on extensions. I think Firefox is fine just the way it is, although the extensions may make some tasks a lot easier to manage.
I think Firefox is a great browser, much better than IE on it owns. The new IE has tabbed browsing which is gold, of course.
But the extensions make Firefox unbeatable...how can IE catch them?
I use
Tab Mix Plus this rocks, allows me to move stuff around, combine search bars, preferences for opening links in tabs, if i hover over a tab, the browser swithes automatically to that tab allowing me to save valuable clicking energy--feels rather spcae agey
Faster Fox faster is better, does some preloading and all
Foxforecast and Foxforecast Enhanced--gives me weather on bottom of window. hover over the little green ball and get a an instant satellite view of the clouds. Weather comes from Acuweather which has my little hick towns weather.
Gmail Manager--gives you a notifier with a drop down for multiple gmail accounts, multple preferences
Gmail Skins--adds nice color background to GMAIL interface
FoxLingo--tool bar that allows you to translate a website into multiple languages from multiple languages. Tool bar is god awful looking, but you can rip it apart with the Tab Mis deal, and leave just a few of the little flags on another toolbar and it works fine.
Gladder--if you are teaching south of Mongolia check it out.
Google Search Preview--gives a little picture of the web page that as appeared in the search engine.
BEST FOR LAST COOL IRIS and COOL IRIS BOOKMARKS--gives a popup window of a page without following the link. You can even brows a bit with in the popup window.
