Anybody have one? I'd love to get a Sandrail, but they're so damn expensive for the style I want (Long nose, 4-person, Independent shocks, Street legal) I'd be better off getting a kit. Which is a no-go as my Mechanical expertise goes as far as changing brakes, oil and the occasional fan belt and pump.
So hey show off some pics of your sweet buggys.
I saw them up where i went riding four whellers one time. They are really cool. They where climbing a hill that was about 400 feet tall and at about 80 degree angle. They are really intersting to watch for sure.
Yeah they're badass. I would love to just fly in one of em with passengers in the back holding on for dear life...
I guess not many people have em though. If they do, they're busy enjoying them rather than talking about them in forums.
I knew a guy that used to have one, but it got TERRIBLE gas mileage. Though, it wasn't a sand buggy, it looked like one but had the stuff to take mountainous terrain. Unfortunately it got terrible gas mileage and I think he ended up selling it. Damn the oil companies.
I suppose a sandrail wouldn't be an effective day to day car. The only reason I would choose to get one street legal-ified is to cut out the (mount on trailer)(drive 5 miles)(take off trailer) part.
I mean, the area which I live in would be perfect for the ORE (Off Road Experience). All I have to do is walk for 15 minutes in almost any direction and I'm at a dry riverbed, primitive road, or rocky clearing.
Damn, why do I want one so bad.
