UFC 59 - What do you think
So Tim Sylvia won at UFC 59. Should he have won? What do you think?
I was betting on another Arlovski win but you all know the result. My first reaction (as well as the whole bar I waswatching it at ) was shock. First of all it is over and secondly why did the ref stop the fight?
At first glance it looked like a bad call on the ref's part but I think it ws the right one. Remember this is a 260 pound man giving everything he has got to the side of another man's head with no thought of stoping. As soon as a fighter is considered to be defenseless in the eyes of the ref they are told to stop immediately. The last thing UFC or anyone is for something preventable to happen to a fighter. It is a fine line. The refs have a lot of responsibility and they have to use there better judgement.
Arlovski was definately rocked and may have been temporarily out on his way to the mat and once down his head was being pounded on and all he could do was put his hands up.
I was definately dissapointed by the outcome. One major reason is Sylvia is a ****** prick and runs his mouth too much. He said he never was off his game and executed everything the way he wanted. Did he not remember when he was rocked first and was very close to losing himself. Arlovski lost that fight being too over excited when he knoocked Sylvia to the mat not because Syliva fought well. If Arlovski kept his composure he would have won.
I can't wait to number 3!

Good post I agree with everything you said including the part about disliking Sylvia quite a bit.
Thought the Ortiz Griffin match was a good one along with the last match. That guy just got destroyed.
Pretty curious to see Hughes/Gracie match.
