Invisionfree of Phpbb?
What should I use for my site?
Invisionfree looks nicer because the ability to add custom skins. But it has ads and I don't have complete control over it.
In phpbb I can basically do what I want with it and add many skins for my members to pick from. One problem, I don't really like how it looks like, but all in all it's a great forum software.

I think youre having a little confusion. PhpBB is the one where every little thing can be customized very easily. I would never reccomend invision. Phpbb has many more options, is easier, and can accomplish more things.
