Hi everyone
everyone has been talking about the football world cup 2006 but no one has talked about cricket.
In my opinion, India v/s South Africa will play the final.Who do you think will be the winners post your opinions.
Dear Raj
The world Cup is only in 2007
So dont get excited
Nobody is talking about it for that reason
its less than a year away.
I think this one will be ruined by rain, its always raining in West Indies.
But this should be a good World Cup, all the teams will be very strong.
Australia once again will be the favourites, but South Africa are doing verg good in the ODIs.
Then there is India, who are looking very good under Dravid and Chappell. They will be a foorce to reckon with.
Pakistan is a young side, but are playing well. They have only lost to India recently, and seem to do very well in the ODI. And since they're in a relatively easy group, they should do good.
England have a chance but they mioght not be suited to the conditions, and the same goes for Sri Lanka. New Zealand are a great ODI side, and they should provide a strong test.
West Indies, the host, well, they never seem good in the ODI, and with their players having contract disputes and everything, they dont have a good chance. But then again, they won the Champions Trophy.
Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, and the rest of the qualifiers, they just dont stand a chance.
Hey by the way the world cup is not in this year, it is in next year. I would like to watch india vs. southafrica or india vs. australia. These matches will surely be the best among the world cup matches. The way the indian cricket players are playing, espessialy dhoni who has got the 1st rank will surely be the rock star then. By the way dont forget Rahul dravid, he will be the winning captain.
All the best to india.
one thing is for sure, the Super 8 stage, which is same as the Super 6 used in previous 2 tournamentrs except that it has 8 teams, will be very exciting.
I mean, all the top 2 teams from each group facing each other, and then only four of them going through to the seims, i think it will be amazing to watch.
Unless there are any upsets, these are teams that will go through to the Super 8 stage (*teams in bold to go through):
Pool A: Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Netherlands
Pool B: Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda
Pool C: New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada
Pool D: West Indies, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Ireland
Now imagine those teams playing against each other, I think it will be amazing. I just hope rain doesnt spoil the World Cup.
well i hope we all know that the west indies team will most definitely winning this world cup!! we are the best and no team stands a chance against us!!
I hope India does well. The teams of sub-continent are going to have a very difficult time playing on the fast bouncy pitches of carribean. I think SA are the strongest contenders though Australia is always the strongest around and New Zealand and England, the eternal dark horses of World Cup.

West Indies are playing the worst after Zimbabwe and Kenya theses days...
And you guys dont even play good at home, you lose home and away.
No way you're going to be winnin the World Cup.
I do hope you beat India when they tour West Indies
well i think the teams in the wc finals will be the same as the last years....
however i do expect a good fight at the end
however, SA team is a strong contender for the WC too so watch out
This may be a good place (or not) to discuss the minnows of world cricket. Is it really worth it for the top sides to play against the minnows or should there not be a different world cup for the minnows where teams of similar/equal strength play against each other ?
Lets face it, unless somthing really dramatic happens, there is just no way that one of the minnow teams will beat a superior team. So basically its just a waste of time for them to play against one another.
Just my two cents ...
i think India Vs South africa will be the final match...
but South Africa has a poor luck in world cups
you can see its luck in past world cups...
Australia may win South Africa
However one team for final is decided...
Its India and the other team will be...
Wait...
just to know that they r conducting world cup...
wait till semi final result
yeah, i am with "saravana".He is right , the world cup final will be between india and south africa, and india will win it.

India, India, India! India will win the world cup!
Simple and easy:
England all the way for that one as well.
We are 2nd best in the world and once we beat the aussies on the home turf and retain the ashes then we be No1!!!
India will win it, i have no doubt

this is ODI circket not tests....England are very bad in ODI, and in the West Indies they have no chance.
Cricket is a funny game, yet I think there are only a couple of likely outcomes for 2007.
No. 1 and the most likely - Australia will win. It doesn't matter who they face in the grand final, or whether they bat first or second, they will win. The only reason everyone seems to think their teams have a chance is because no-one's played the Aussies for ages when it counts.
(At this point I will need to break and say the English won the Ashes fair and square and I have no gripes, I'm just telling the truth).
However, have a look at how the Aussies dismantled the Bangladeshis is the recent series and exactly what those players can do. If that doesn't scare anyone into reconsidering their own abilities on the field, they don't have any place on the world stage. I know it was Bangladesh, but still from a 200-run deficit to a victory like that shows grit and determination and something that's almost impossible to do regardless of who you're playing. Oh, and there was the total whitewash of South Africa earlier this year in both the test and one-day arenas. Maybe the losses in the Ashes series were just what the Aussies needed to come back harder and stronger? Also, how can you ignore the results of the past two CWCs. If for nothing else, it shows you that the Aussies have what it takes to be the undeniable Test kings to and awesome, fearsome one-day side.
That said, I think the other possibility is - dare I say it - England. As much as they're the ones who beat the Aussies in the Ashes and most likely the cause of their magnificant return, they have been the steady improvers. Even during the last World Cup, they appeared to be the ones most likely to cause an upset. With a focussed training campaign to and a disciplined tournament, they will be the most likely outsiders to win.
As for the other teams -
India, apart from their old faithful players there's no-one new or outstanding. And even they're struggling to shine.
Pakistan, team is in disarray. The only one really standing is the world's slowest world-class professional cricketer - the lovable Inzi.
Sri Lanka, how long can they keep Vaas going?
West Indies, who's the captain again? If you can't figure out a captain, how can you figure out a team?
New Zealand, old, slow, outdated. Only Stephen Fleming's mind works the best, but no-one can put those thoughts into action. Vettori deserves to dispatched over the long off fence.
South Africa, all talk (even by the commentators) but never any action.
So, "Go Aussie Go" but trust me, the Aussies have no hope in the Soccer World Cup I may have national pride, but I try to be honest too.
well if u ask me i will go 4,,
pakistan
india
bangladesh
newzeland

yeah, whatever....no chance for them...surely they're not going to overcome India and Sri Lanka, and perhaps not even Bermuda...
I think this time lot of chances to India / Pakistan / Srilanka
because westindies pitches are slow. so.. may be spin would work..
i still can't believe the last finals.... wish india came out wit a better mindset...
i still believe in them though.. hopefully dis time they'll do even better!!
