how to install glib-2.2.3 via fink?

I'm trying to install glib-2.2.3 via fink, but fink doesn't find any glib-2.2.x versions. it only finds glib-1.2.10, but I need 2.2.x. I downloaded a 2.2.3 tarball but can't figure out how to install 2.2.3 via fink. fink seems to only look online for packages to install. can anyone help me out with this? I'm sure its something simple that I'm not doing or something like that.

This is a link to the documentation that you seem to need. I am not a mac user so I am unsure if it hits all of the points needed, but below the binary distribution installation section, you should also find the Fink Commander section interesting, as it provides a GUI with local installation exposed, it seems.
