Each day I'm getting a lot of spam in my inbox. Things weren't like this before. Something wrong with the Yahoo! spam filters. Anyways, anyone else having the same problem?
Yahoo and spam
it's not a problem with Yahoo!'s spam filters.. if you use your email address to register on websites, or just post your email on the NET, chances are your email will be found by spam bots.. that is what i think.. i had a Yahoo! account previously and it was filled with spam.. the same goes for my Gmail account, i'm getting more spam as time goes by..
well, in future, if you are signing up for websites or posting your email in public, use a dodgeit address: http://www.dodgeit.com . Reveal your real email only to your friends.. Alternatively, i think Yahoo! provides disposable addresses as well, although dodgeit is simpler and faster..
you can try installing spam software too that uses a challenge and response system if you use email client software like MS Outlook or Outlook Express..

All i would suggest is keep reporting them as spam for a few days (or a couple of weeks) and the sitution will improve. One of my friend had the same problem with his Gmail account, but regular reporting has improved his sitution a lot.

well, for some countries, such as Singapore, they allow users access to POP3 for free.. ainieas, does your country's Yahoo! offer it?

i don't think reporting will do.. all the spam does get to the bulk mail folder in Yahoo!.. it can be annoying too.. well however, there is an option in Yahoo! mail that allows you to automatically delete messages classified as spam instead of delivering to the Bulk Mail folder.. the only con is that if an important mail got classified as spam, it can never be recovered..

I do keep reporting them everyday but no use it seems. The situation has detoriated since last two weeks or so. I had checked the option to dump all the spam to bulk mail but not a lot of it I find in my inbox.
everyday i get an average of 200+ spam mails, which can be very annoying, but at least they made it so you can clear them up with just a click of your button.
I gradually got more and more spam with Yahoo, so what I eventually started using my Gmail account for personal emails and Yahoo for when I registered for stuff. That way any spam goes to an account I don't use too much.
most of the "report spam" does not work at all, and it cannot detect most of the spam mails sent by spam software...
I use gmail...which is not yahooo, i know and i receivew everyday mails of people trying to sell me viagra and other types of drug and i also receive mails about stock marteking...my only problem is that i can't block this mails because its always from a different person...
