Religion, specifically Christianity, is the source of everything... all truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through Him.

So you're saying a man made construct, which huge groups of people who say they are christian can't even agree on, is the source of everything? I'm hoping that your words just didn't come out right on the post. I agree that Jesus is the ultimate truth, but in no way shape or form could I ever say any religion is the source of everything.

Would you believe in a God that kills people? Would you believe in a God that plays with lives and doesn't care about his believers? Do you think a God would ever ask somebody to kill in his name?

Well, Christians, Jewish, Mushlims and most part of religions are just the same: a way to control people through fear. "If you don't do this or that you will go to hell...". I can only smile when I hear this things.

Goverment is some countries is always using religion just to try to convince their people that what they are doing is just what God wants. Some leaders even say that God talks to them. Even most wars have started helped with religion. Isn't is funny?

Why don't we forget religions and just learn to respect law and the others? World would be a better place for everyone.

Personally I think there is a difference between Religion and Belief. EVERYONE believes in something, even the athiests. So, since everyone believes, we need to discuss what religion means. IMO, religion is a way to express ones beliefs and find community with others who share their beliefs. I do not believe that any one religion is right, but all share in their goal to provide a spiritual guide for humans.

I suppose you are right, in a sense. The people who aren't agreeing are focusing on the wrong things. Christianity does not come from Church, it does not come from other people, it comes from the Bible. We don't need religion, but we do need God and Jesus.

Actually, I decided to try to discuss civilly, instead of getting into a flame war.

Doesn't have to be a flame war, but you guys are acting like he's saying religion is a good thing.
Soulfire
Religion itself isn't the greatest thing. Nobody needs religion (I am talking the very organized Churches), but we all need God and Jesus.
