Did anybody read this:
http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/lostgospel/document.html
?

I would read it today in croatian translation in one of our daily newspapers. What do you think about it?

Hi crasso;

Yes, I am very interested in reading the text. I also think that National Geographic will have a special about the find in the near future.

Consider the following from a NG press release:
Quote:

Judas Iscariot, long reviled as history's quintessential betrayer, was actually the best friend of Jesus and turned him over to authorities only because Jesus asked him to, according to the Gospel of Judas, a long-lost document presented Thursday by the National Geographic Society.

The document, considered by some to be the most important archaeological find of the past 60 years, purports to record conversations between Jesus and Judas in the last week of their lives -- conversations in which Jesus shared religious secrets not known by the other disciples.

Looks very interesting!

I was watching National Geographic last night and saw a preview of that. I have wondered if it is true that the betrayer of GOD would write his own Gospel, which Gospel isn't a true name of it until it confirmed by the Church to be pure. Of course, I could be wrong and Judas did write that but the odds are very low.

You must remember that someone could have easily written this down on their own and claimed it to be his. Having no record of Judas's handwriting, we could never know.

Shocked... This has come as quite a shock to me. Not because the find itself is miarculous or anything - I'm an agnostic, so I don't care about discoveries like that, except for historical and intellictual reasons.

The shock came from the realization that I read a novel called The Gospel According to Judas a long time ago, and the main theme of that novel was almost this exact find.... A gospel written by Judas himself.

I don't have time at the moment to take a good look at the Website you kindly provided, crasso, but I will do that as soon as I finish the work I have at the moment.

So, as The Terminator had repeatedly said, I'll be back! Smile

ive heard about this also, Judas did write a gospel but it was destryed because of what he supposedly did, but this new one that was recently found is supposed to be the only surviving copy of judas gospel, and it is not a fake, carbon dating already made sure of that. The chances of people accepting it are low though, after all it can't be proven just like the rest of the bible, the interesting thing would be that judas gospel would basicly rewrite most of Jesus story, where Judas would be his best friend, and Jesus would simply ask him to betray him. This is not such a bad idea, when one dies young he will live on forever, if he where to die of old age it would not of been such a big deal, this basicly creates many different views and possible events, such as Jesus planning all of this.
