Does anybody have any tips for speeding up vista in VMware? I have a Sun ultra 20 Workstation with 2 gigs of ram. 1 gig of it is for Vista. Vista is really clunky as a guest OS compared to XP.
Vista 5342 build on vmware
lol, speed up vista. Vista requires High amounts of cpu power it just isn't going to happen. Unless your cpu is 1ghz or higher this isn't going to happen.

Well the cpu is a 1.4 Ghz 64bit Opteron. I shut off Windows defenser and mssearch(??) and it seems usable now.
make sure iTunes or Azureus arent running in the background. these have higher cpu usages.
Oh, i am facing the same problem !
I has installed Vista in VMWare but my PC only has 1G Ram and CPU is 1.8GHZ . However, it 's really slow .... like snail !
Xeniczone:
How to turn off iTunes or Azureus running in the background ?
Any other good tips?
