DODGE vs. CHEVY

Well, ride and comfort are very subjective. Regardless I, have been in both and I don't find the seats in the Ram versions anywhere near as comfortable as the GM. The ride in the GM is more controled, in my opinion, and I can see why some would equate this to a "better" ride in the Dodge. But I most certainly don't think the RAM has a horrible ride. Heck, they all ride better than my '89 Chevy C15.

Handling, again in my opinion, is better in the GM.

Just to be clear, it is obvious that if you were in a automatic transmission equiped RAM that only had 4 forward gears, it either had to be a V6 or a Cummins diesel. All RAM V8s get a automatic with six forward gears.

A five speed would offer an advantage in the Cummins equiped RAM, but that by itself wouldn't keep me away. The Allison for all its hype is not without some negatives, mostly the inordinate complaints of noise after 30,000 miles, some vibration issues, and irratic shifting complaints.

The new 48RE, although a four speed, is as stout as any automatic on the market and more than enough behind the Cummins engine and since introduction has been extremely reliable. And when it comes to lower maintenance costs, in my experience the Vortec is the leader.

as much as i love my dodge i have to agree with you on ride control. My dodge like to slide all over the place when i hit potholes, as opposed to our ford 350. As for comfort, i lean more towards dodge, both have great seats, but im 6'2 and for some reason the dodge seats accomadate my height and posture better.

i think dodge has a nicee control and better road grip than chevy

dodge is not a name, it's an instruction that should always be remembered Laughing

As far as keeping control on rough terrain, I'd suggest dodge's little brother: jeep. Try as I might I just can't loose control in it.

I think what your'e reffering to as 'ride' has more to do with the suspension than anything else. Independant front suspension (like on the chevy) will ride smoother, but sacrifices some of the control offered by a solid live axel (like older fords, my jeep, and possibly that dodge).

Hello everybody!

I think Dodge, why? it's easy, the history, the models and the power!

In the history of dodge, it created a lot of classical cars!

For example Dodge Charger 68, Dodge Challenger 70, Dodge Coronet 68, Dodge Super Bee 69, The All new Dodge Charger SRT8, The All New Caliber R/T.

I consider that dodge create a lot of cars with a special feeling, and the have power... muscle... passion!

Not to instigate a war here, but are you implying that Chevrolet has no history, no models, no power?
The terms along the lines of '68 Camaro and '74 Corvette mean nothing? Monte Carlos? Chevelles? I only point out the exclusive years of '68 and '74, cos I own those (as well as a '96 Corvette). The '68 is currently being re-built, ground up, as the last owner decided it was a winter vehicle.
Speaking of "All New", how about the '06 Corvette? 505HP. How about the '08 Camaro?
No offense meant to you, but you can't say that one company has more history, creativity, or power than another.

Chevy is crap ! Thank Mercedes for your Dodge

Thank god the chevies we have in Europe are Daewoos !! They behave better !

They don't do any dynamic investigation of how their car behaves :

- most components are over dimensionned (just to be sure), they're heavier too
- it rides like crap (has to have very smooth suspensions)
- furnishing isen't well finished

Hate american cars ... sorry !

Don't get me started on GMC, or GM

I consider that the new Corvette has a lot of european stylish not a an american Muscle car (like C5)... but camaro in that moment it doesn't sell. If you compare the C6 with italian sport car, you won't find a lot of diferences. I mean the new C6 is not really bad but c6 style is near to Jaguar XK or Aston Martin... not an american muscle car.

Another cars from GM for example the new products like impalas, malibus, saturns or anothers don't have an american Style beacuse only try to compite with new japanese cars or europan cars. If you compare the new charger or the new 300c with the new impala, the impala design its very boring. Actually the only brand that it has a lot of great cars from GM is possible Pontiac (Solstice and GTO or Monaro by Holden) or Opel, i think the new Astra has a great Style.

And the new camaro it's only the answer for new Mustang, i know that GM create a lot of great cars but i think chrysler and ford are better. But each one have own opinion.

hmmm i love the old chevys and dodges. the vans and trucks from the 70's 80's and early 90's

I would get the Dodge with the Cummins! Or a Ford F-250 or F-150 Harley Ed. for comfort. It has been my experience with GMs that the interior gets ratty after a couple years.

As my name might imply, I prefer dodges.

But it wasnt always that way, I grew up loving holdens (gm) but the problem is, GMs are everywhere down here (New Zealand).

For example, right now there are 20+ chevy camaros for sale online in New Zealand.

If we compare that to the dodge challenger (there are only 20-30 challengers in the whole country) thats a huge amount.

Also, when I go to a car show 75% of the cars are chevys - and they all look the same.

MoPar or no car... (I know this post may seem unfinished, but thats because I dont feel like discussing the superior build quality of mopar engines)
