Immortality
Lets say that today scientists have discovered a way to make you immortal. Would you agree to have the treatment? Or would you prefer to live out your natural lifespan?
Personally I'd take the treatment. I'm in love with the future and would love to see mankind's future and be part of our inevitable journey into the stars. I want to be alive to experience the promises of our world.

I like the idea of moving on. The earth needs fresh perspectives every generation or so. In addition, it would be irresponsible for the future generations to incrase the burden on the food supply. impractical
The way I look at it is this way.
Being able to live forever, while a temptation, isn't what it's made out to be. No matter how much things change, a lot will stay the same. What would you do if you lived forever on this earth? Do you dream of becoming rich if you did? How would you if you can't do it in one life span?
I don't see where it would be worth it in the long run. Besides, even if you did live forever, it doesn't mean that you would stay healthy.

What if you could exist as a computer program?
An artificial inteligence that is not artificial...

No, for a few reasons:
1) We already have eternal life
2) Living on earth forever would be SO boring
3) I'm not one for humans playing God.

Haha, soulfire, humans already play "God." It's just what the government does these days-part of daily life by now...
As for immortality, I would have to turn it down. As much as I would love to see how polluted and corrupted this world becomes, there would be too many people I'd get attatched to. And then, to see them all die off, as you continue to live on forever? Doesn't sound too appetizing..

assuming you mean immortal as, cant be hurt, cant grow old, etc etc
as he said everyone you know and love would die, unless they also took the treatment.
then eventually the end of the world would come and oyu would just be all like, o so here i am in space, cant breath but i stil alove, i guess ill just hang around here for a while....

"if I told you that.. there is a treatment which.. you can take and you cannot live for ever, but you can increase your life span" would you be surprised?.. hey it is not fake.. this is true that.. you can.. but the problem is.. during the treatment.. if the doctor or the person who getting treated make a small mistake... you die that second... it is very risky.. and there is not much of doctors doing it..
it is not a story guys... check it out.. this treatment is available in some parts of India.. you must be very lucky to get to know a place like it.. cause... they don't put clinics or ads.. and the one exists will be on top of some mountains..
the name of treatment is : "Kaaya-kalpa" or "Kaaya-kalpam" do a reasearch on it and come back and post your replies....
Interesting eh?

It's called exercising regularly and eating healthy.
Besides, being immortal wouldn't help if you were flattened by a bus. You'd need to be invincible, and that's really pushing it unless you are from planet Krypton.
God has power over all, so though people play "God" everything is in His hands!
We have eternal life like SoulFire said! Either in Heaven or in Hell!
Not on earth!

I was not talking about exercising regularly and eating healthy.. Now I know you are ignorant anyway.. onemore thing... I was not talking about anything immortal nor invincible.. but to add some 150 years to your age now.. so getting flatten by a BUS will surely kill you even you took "Kaya Kalpam"... First of all check If what I said was right.. do a research on something... trust me buddy... many thing Iam sure of.. you think as stupidness... and vice versa... that's human nature... but please do some research on something.. before you say your opinion about it.... thanks...
Honestly, I'd be sorely tempted, and probably would take the immortality.
But something tells me I'd end up regretting it. For one thing, everyone close to me (assuming they didn't take the treatment as well) would age and die. For another, I'm already rather disgusted with the nature of society right now, so continuing to watch society rot itself from the inside out doesn't seem all that appealing.
Despite all of this, though, I most likely wouldn't bother to think this sort of thing through were it not a hypothetical situation (I have a tendency to be impulsive...) and would take the immortality.

if i was immortal, i was challenge god to a breath holding competition, and a rowing challenge, coz he is pretty old i guess.
then i would boy cot heavens gate, do they have body guards?

if i was imortal, i would be awesome, wouldnt have to worry about heaven or hel then, could do what ever you wanted.
but I agree it leaves with the question, if otu could be youthful and immue to harm, that would kick ass all the way.
