Hello,
I'm looking for a (free )template . I want to put some music on my site where the visitors can choose a song by clicking on an arrow or a number or something. I thought about something in Flash , I can convert to .swf so that isn't a problem. I have Flash , Dreamweaver etc..
So Please help me out.
PS : If this topic is in the wrong section please remove it then.
Grtzz,
Hi....
i'm trying to suggest you not to use flash to put music on your site
(if the music is longer than 10 seconds)...note this,
flash file (.swf) will be downloaded to user comp. when it's requested
and it WON'T play until it downloaded ( unless, you use AS / loading)
when the music file is bigger than 10 seconds usually it will made thw .swf file bigger also, (10 seconds is the average loop for swf, it will create decent file size for your site)....

| the longer the customer waiting the sooner they leave |
instead, use loops for your site .... it will dl faster

Isn't it a breaking a rules?
is flash music allowed on frihost?
You can have your own streaming radio station with http://www.pandora.com
That's so against the rules.
Edit: Nevermind, I thought that was an on-your-own-server streaming radio station.
Turns out I was wrong.
pandora is freaking sweet. I found it first when it had a 10 hr free trial limit. I was so happy when they moved to ad supported unlimited versions.

Sorry about that. I had placed a more detailed post about Pandors in the website area where I explained that you can put a link in your web site to your pandora radio station or use a java script that will allow you to link all your radio stations to your blog or website. I should have been more specific here.
i think even you use a streaming sound to your site getting it from another is still not allowed here at frihost...unless the copyright is yours

That's a bit strict interpretation especially when the stream is coming from a site that does have the licence to stream music. By definition that would be the artist permission to use that service to stream their music.
Of course the real people that have the say so are the owners of the servers. Perhaps a ruling is in order?
I wonder just the same. If the website allows streaming music then is it against the rules of frihost? I do know that having music in your flash isnt allowed unless you own the copyright
well you can make a nice looking site in html and then use any of the free flash mp3 players available on the net
there are many nice lookin and skinnable mp3 players available........
u can try them out and build a website to suit ur needs
I'm guessing the streaming is not conflicting with frihost TOS.
