Mercedes McLaren SLR AMG
It is pretty, but I'll take a mid 50's 300SL gullwing, please. Benz will never top that one...
This has to be the best car Mercedes has today. It's one of the most expensive production cars and it was #2 last year priced at about $452,000. But, there are a lot of cars that are far better such as the Bugatti Veyron and the SSC Ultimate Aero.
Obviously it is a cool car, but there's one problem with it as far as I'm concerned. It's an automatic! And how could they build such a car and have the crappy paddle shifts on such a gearbox? The only guys who can build a good paddle shift are the Audi group (DSG).

I am a big fan of any car that has Mclaren in its title. From the MP4-21 to this fine little thing here. its a really nice car and even better to own. I would kill a whole family of cute little easter bunnies to get my hands that car!!!

I agree. Most commuters would like automatic, but this a luxury sports car.

i guess they're not aiming for the casual consumer/race addict with this car. its for the multimillionaires who couldnt really care less if its manual/automatic (would actually prefer it to be automatic im guessing)
and even so, it would still kick a lot of cars butts

such an imposing car - looks immense. however - why the heck does it have an automatic gearbox? appart from that i cant remember what top gear said about it... but still - who would say no to being dropped off at a club in it?
Well guys, this is a luxurious+race car. It is a little lighter than it's previous version(the SL55). The price is as expensive as hell(RM 6 million-including the 200% import tax of malaysia ofcourse).
The car:
1. Has the same 5 1/2 supercharged V8 engines like the SL 55.
2. SL 55 cost 90,000 pounds while McClaren SLR costs 312,000 pounds.
3. Over 600 horse power(If i'm not mistaken)
4. The body is made from carbon fibre(the downside). But the upside is, it is v. v. strong and v. v. light.
5. Top speed(208/280 mph/kph

What are the benefits?
-The ceramic breaks are AWESOME! They glow red when we drift, and catches fire when we use them a lot (duh!). Ofcourse it's very very expensive. Costing at about RM80,000. I would go for brembo brakes since they're almost similiar.
-Knot to 60 in 3.8 seconds.
-The car can stop 2x faster. For example: We're suppose to be at 60 mph for 240 feet away. The car can stop while at a speed of 120 mph. (COOL! NO MORE ACCIDENTS IN RACING. LOL!)
The down side(DAMN I HATE IT
):
1. Luxurious components when they wanna make the car light o.O
BUT!!!

The reason they only offer atuomatic is that its very easy to f**k a car up by downshifting at high revs or doing something else stupid when changing gears.

such a beautiful car.Somebody crashed one of them in Dubai I think and the engine was fine but the rest of the car was a writeoff. They took the engine and put it in a SLK chassis and boy did it go. They had to reinforce the front suspension because it could not take the weight of the engine. f
I know sweet FA about road cars but the SLR is absolutely fantastic imo

How good was the sound!?!?!?!? They raved on about it for ages and at the end of the season gave the award to the best engine note all year to the SLR!
