My cousin has a '00 mercury cougar and i must say it is sick. She bought it off ebay with all kinds of mods. Has 18" Falken wheels and tires. 4.5 inch cat back exhaust and z3 fenders, a body kit, big arse wing. its crazy. They are cheap though. the interioir like falls apart and they always have problems with liek windows and electronics and such.
Crappiest car I have ever driven (at least the new ones). They fall apart like crazy, and are horribly cheap. Not to mention the engine is not the most reliable thing on the market. I have seen countless of these break down on people I know. I could not believe how cheap the interior was, I thought hyundais were cheap, then I sat in the cougar, and was simply appalled. Sorry to rant like that, but it is one of the worst cars I've ever driven. The only one that beats it for worst car ever is the geo metro.
