Which one is more efficient if I'm just going to be using basic HTML and CSS? Dreamweaver seems a bit complicated and a bit too advanced for my tastes.
Dreamweaver or Frontpage?
There are probably 100 other threads like this. Use the search function.
Hands down, dreamweaver is basically THE chouce in website deleopment. It does not mater if you are just using HTML and CSS of if you are also using java & PHP, dreamweaver covers all yuor needs and is really not that hard to learn and get used to. It is simple, easy use and packed with features that help you along the way. Others like FrontPage are goood alternatives, but they are just that, alternatives.
I think that you should hav both, if you codes php and html manually dreamweaver have colour codes on diffrent things, wich could be usefull if you have problems.. wich frontpage does not have. but frontpage helps you a lot with html coding. wich is a big plus for front page, and a big minus for dreamveawer...
Yeah, but dreamweaver uses proper coding, whereas Frontpage has a tendency to make messy code which only Internet Explorer can display properly.
Go with dreamweaver definately. It's easy to use and has better features than frontpage IMO.
Dreamweaver easily.
I would add another voice to the Dreamweaver body of opinion.
Having used both, I have found DW to be far and away superior to FP.
The code it produces is cleaner, and it has a much better GUI for producing the precise results that you may be looking for than FP.

Dreamweaver. Its far far better
Dreamweaver.
It is much easier to use than Frontpage, besides, frontpage does some really wierd stuff with the code.
I still prefer Notepad, though... no reason to give an editor a chance to generate strange html.

Dreamweaver, nothing by Microsoft ever works the way you want it to, and you have everything you will ever need in DW
From these two - of course dreamweaver,
But i think for advvanced programmer some progs such as word pad but with tags lighting are good...

Agreeing with most people, go with Dreamweaver. Frontpage may have more fancy layouts prebuilt, but the code is horrendous (not sure on my spelling). I just took a class in Frontpage, yeah, wound up doing all but the themes and shared borders that frontpage has built in, in Dreamweaver, cus I couldn't stand how sloppy the coding was.
Deramweawer i think but if you are at beginning you should use Frontpage because it seems more easy for me...

Dreamweaver is the way to go. I used FrontPage for like, 3 years, and I thought it was pretty good. Then I found Dreamweaver... and I was like "Woah, software can do that!?"
Seriously, Dreamweaver literally hands you options while you're coding. You barely have to even remember anything.

i say notepad
hey, I was gonna say notepad...
I would take Dreamweaver. It's extremely easy to handle. You have to be careful, though, becuase if you don't know much html, Dreamweaver will try to complete things for you, making it difficult to learn anything. Learn CSS and HTML before you get an editor.
Why get stuck in the Frontpage/Dreamweaver box. I say learn how to code and get yourself a simple web builder app that's GNU licenced and free and handles all your coding needs beyond HTML and CSS like JavaScript, PHP and so forth. There's tons of stuff like that out there.
Frontpage is very basic....i personally hate it. it makes pages so ugly. i cant stand it....dreamweaver is way better and more advanced...but your better off just coding them yourself, because theres no limit on what you can do if you write it to your liking.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that Frontpage will no longer be part of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Definitely Dreamweaver, just to let Microsoft make less bucks.
I also love the whole "Macromedia Studio" stuff.

Dreamweaver... I'll admit that for the average Joe Frontpage is easier to you but as far as a quality product goes Dreamweaver wins. I've also had experience with Adobe GoLive which I thought seemed very decent.
