Do new subdomains take a while to activate?

guissmo
I created j09.guissmo.frih.net and placed a folder named j09 and placed the index.html file there but it wont appear.

Does it automatically activate or does it take a while??

It should be active immediately, so I think you've done something wrong.

You will need to log into DirectAdmin (http://www.guissmo.frih.net:2222) and add a subdomain called j09. That will then create the folder for you, then you add the information you need in there. Have you already done this, or did you just create a directory?

If you created a directory, can you see the page if you go to http://www.guissmo.frih.net/j09/index.html ?

Yes, http://www.guissmo.frih.net/j09/index.html works but http://j09.guissmo.frih.net/ doesn't. Why?

THE ANSWER IS " barbecue ". GO AWAY.

It's almost immediately. However, if you try it too soon, it can take a good while for you while others can already reach it.

Is there a way to use domain pointers to a subdomain? So instead of the domain pointing to <xxxx>.frih.net it would point to <yyyy>.<xxxx>.frih.net?
