i wan't to make movies in flash, so people cannot steal them Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil , well they can but then a link to my site.
i dont wan't to let the movie automaticly play. but 2 buttons: a play button and a stop button.
when they click on it it plays, and it can stop also.
well i've been looking a lot on forums and tutorials to see any of them.
butcouldn't find any. Crying or Very sad

you need three objects.
1. a movie clip to hold the two buttons
2. a play button
3. a stop button

make each button and put them into the movieclip.
use actionscript on the buttons so that when the play button is pressed it is replaced with stop button.
This is done with movieclip instances. Search for duplicateMovieClip to find out more.

This Is Not the best way.But the simplest one.coz i think u don't know much on AS2.0

1.Add a layer ANd insert 2 movie clips PLay ANd Stop.
2.Select Play and open action script panel and write

play();


3.select stop button open actionscript panel and type
Code:
stop();


4.Make a new Layer named action
5.Select the 1st blank keyframe of the action layer. open actionscript panel and type

stop();

This will stop the movie on startup

Its better to follow actionscript tutorial fron the flash help or read some good book Like ActionScript Bible etc.

Don't think that no one can steal your movie from your web site .
there are some software which can extract swf file and convert them to .fla files.

I am not sure if u r talking about Movies (like videos) within Flash or just about Movies like Flash MovieClips. Anyway seems everyone that replied assumes the second, however if u r really interested in playing video files from Flash here is some code of my own Smile

ncConnection = new NetConnection();
ncConnection.connect(null);
      
nsStream = new NetStream(ncConnection);
      
vVideo.attachVideo(nsStream);
   
nsStream.play(videoSource);


Of course u need to do this action script within a MovieClip that already has video instance attached (named vVideo) unfortunately for now there is no way u can attach an instance of video from AS u need to add it to library manually.

Then u can control this video playback with simple calls like:

For simplification i took this code out of my classes, i do think u should wrap it up to some VideoController class if u r AS2.0 literate, for better management but didnt want to confuse u with AS2.0 object oriented programming.

You can download softwares like swf2fla or flash decompiler
I searched google for the decompiler and found following links.

These are not free But you can download trial version from the web site.

I use flash decompiler.
You can also extract like actionScript or Graphics or fonts from the swf movie using this software.
