phpbb3 beta is about to release. phpbb2 is still not bad. But it cannot compare with paid forum softwares like vbulletin and IPB. I hope phpbb3 will add those features, which phpbb2 lack in comparision of those softwares. May be it be far better than those paid forums.

Yes u can't compare phpbb with ipb or vb
I agree, you can't compare phpBB to those other pay software. The developers of phpBB do not get paid for thier work as the software is opensource and free to the public. When you stop to think how much work has gone into the making of phpBB and it's strength of following in the marketplace, it is far more popular than the other software, and for the price it simply can't be beat.
